no, but i think he'll get close to it. He's already making 13 mil this year, I can imagine some desperate team giving him a near max contract.
Nothing wrong with wanting a max contract. I am not sure he will get paid too much more than what he already makes. I'd say between 15-18 mil a year is what he'll get.
Seriously? That's a lot of money for a guy who isn't even an all-star. I think he's worth maybe $10mm, but he'll get around $12mm.
he'll get more than that. in the off season, hawks already offered him 3 years for more than $45 mil. For 10 or 12 mil per year, the Hawks would readily resign him. Signing him for $10 mil and bringing him to Houston is just a pipe dream.
The Hawks offered him a 3 year extension for $45 mil + in the off season. There's no indication this offer is of the table for him, so even if nobody signs him for the max he can always fall back to the Hawks.
It would be just like when Barkley was here and we b****ed every time he took a 3, except Barkley had actual post game and Smith after 8yrs in the league still doesn't have any offensive game other than dunks.
There is also no indication the Hawks will keep that offer on the table this summer. We also don't know how bad Smith wants to leave Atlanta. Now that he is unrestricted and can negotiate with other teams, he may accept less money to leave. Everything is to be determined. I say he is a goner.
i think someone will pay him 14/15 min a year for 4 years. Not sure if he is worth it, but somebody will throw money at him, thats for sure.
