Josh Smith was benched tonight when they competed against his old team ATL. I wonder why they benched him after signing him to a four year $54million deal. He was playing good for them the past few games, this game he came off the bench and was held scoreless after shooting 0-7 in 20 mins of action. Probably didn't have any motivation to play since he came off the bench. Any thoughts?
Because for whatever reason Joe Dumars doesn't believe in spacing and actually thought Drummond/Monroe/Smith frontcourt may work. It's like he doesn't understand that you can't have 3 players on the court who can't shoot jumpshots, while also using a guard who's best skill is penetration. He is the anti-Morey in terms of offensive philosophy.
Well, the Pistons don't have pieces that fit, that seems clear. Perhaps Monroe is the one who need to go for an the best perimeter guy they can find.
Maybe I shouldn't give Dumars this much credit, but I believe the plan was to trade Monroe (notice they didn't extend him) and move Smith to PF where he belongs. Smith at SF just doesn't work. Monroe will be traded by the deadline.
Thats approximately what jennings is worth. Watching that dude jack up 20 ugly shots a day is the painful price you pay to watch drummond play. The fact that this guy is actually a significant upgrade over brandon knight illustrates how much of a bust knight is.
He's learning from the "master." <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/eGDBR2L5kzI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
