http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-NTwHZe4jU Dislike his game all you want, hard to hate him as a person though.
Where is that Hunter's Point, Tenderloin? The worst neighborhood in San Francisco, looks better than the average neighborhood in Houston.
It's pretty bad. I avoid that area and I never enter that area alone. Even the police avoid that area
very nice and touching story. Great to see Jeremy Lin use his pull as an NBA player to do good things. He is a really nice person. Probably the best leader the Rockets have on their team right now.
During the day the Tenderloin is fine. But once the sun goes down, there are definitely pockets where you really don't want to be wandering around without a good reason, and the Tenderloin is probably the largest and most concentrated of those areas.
I've always had great respect for JLin. He is a really intelligent and nice guy. I also give him full credit for LinSanity. A guy comes from nowhere and becomes the issue of a nation. I also admire him for professionalism. If McHale wants him to come from the bench, he comes from the bench and gives it his all. That was the right choice, because right now he is putting down quite amazing stats. I doubt if he had the possibility to do that together with Harden on the court. He will do very good when the season goes on. He might be in the trade zone due to his contract.
I don't think people hate him at all, heck I also think it's hard not to like the guy! The hate really revolves around the people who idolize him and are overly zealous in defending his game. Being narrow minded on ANYTHING can rub people the wrong way! Personally I think he's a very good basketball player and an even better human being! (P.S) Thanks for sharing the video OP! I almost felt like letting someone else cry for me... ....... ....... .......
Maybe not hate, Dislike is more appropriate i think, i can't think of other reason why people would think such inspiring story related with our players is a terrible thread
There is a lot of irrational hate for Lin because he's different and certain segment of the population cannot stand that he is different yet can succeed in a field where they think they have an inherent right to succeed because of some perceived advantage. It is human nature to put people in boxes because that helps us analyse info better. But when someone refuses to stay in their box, what you s ee on CF is a reflection of the real world. Remember when the suburbs were all white affairs and the first black family moves in, guess what happened? No different that what is going on here. The whites are not sensitive to this because they have always been the majority in this country. But the Latinos and Asians are certainly well aware of this because they have had a glass ceiling their whole lives.
I think the GARM has been saturated with JLin threads, therefor there might be some JLin thread backlash. The dislike/hate is not TOWARDS JLin, but rather that it's ANOTHER JLin thread started by ANOTHER (presumed) LOF. There is nothing to hate about JLin as a person, he's really one cool cat! ....... ....... .......
i get what you means, but if the so called backlash gotten to this point that anything related with Lin will be consider terrible , i'm sure the person doesn't have any good impression of Lin as well. Do you think that it's possible that a person dislike everything related of Lin but still think he's a cool guy, i really doubt it.
The whole JLin drama has taken a toll on everyone (LOF's/LOH's) and ROF's such as myself! I like JLin, but there have been multiple occasions where I have wished that the Rockets would trade him, not because of his play, but because I'm tired of hearing the bickering in the GARM! To answer your question, YES, you can like him and hate all the negativity that everyone else brings in his name. ....... ....... .......
