This is the guy that singlehandedly brought an end to the Yankee Dynasty, Kept Cal's streak alive, helped Sammy cork his bat, and he also helped the Reds win a World Series (I think). ....If anyone read that article.....
If the allegations he makes come out to be true, would anybody really be surprised? I wouldn't, so one can't assume he's lying.
Don't know if this is believable... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3394142 Bell says Bonds admitted steroid use to her Story Tools: Print Email FOXSports.com Posted: 34 minutes ago Jose Canseco isn't the only one making steroids-related news these days. Barry Bonds' alleged former mistress is now saying the Giants slugger admitted to her that he has used steroids. Kimberly Bell made the allegations during an appearance on Geraldo Rivera's show on the Fox News Channel. Also... Rivera asked her, "Did he admit, specifically, to using (steroids) to you?" "Yes," Bell answered. "Yes, he did tell me. He told me between '99 and 2000 that this was something he was doing." Like Canseco, Bell has a book to hawk. Bell was on the Rivera program to promote her account of her nine-year relationship with Bonds, tentatively titled "Bonds' Girl." While Bonds reportedly admitted in grand jury testimony he unknowingly used products — known as "the cream" and "the clear" — that contained steroids, he has publicly denied that he knowingly used any form of steroids. But Bell not only alleged that Bonds was intentionally using steroids to help "him recover quicker from his injuries," but she claimed to have knowledge of other players under investigation who were using them. "He said everybody was — this was something everyone was doing," Bell said. Kimberly Bell, Barry Bonds' alleged former mistress. (FOX News Channel) Bell also said that Bonds was concerned that people would notice changes in his appearance ranging from acne to bloating and would attribute them to steroid use. She even claimed to having witnessed bouts of 'roid rage, in which Bonds threatened her with violence. Bell unsuccessfully sued Bonds for palimony and admitted to going public with her allegations of steroid use because Bonds "offered me peanuts for the whole thing." According to Bell, Bonds offered her $20,000 to "resolve the whole thing and to walk away and sign a confidentiality agreement."
Uhh, guys, there's no "debate" about whether Bonds used roids at this point. There is no possible way a human body can change that much naturally. No one can possibly say with a straight face that he never went on the juice. So, who CARES what Jose Canseco says about it? The truth is blindingly obvious.
The people Jose named might be juicing(but not the pitchers), but that doesn't mean he isn't lying about knowing about it. He's attention starved, so why wouldn't he just pick a couple names that sound like they plausibly doped and say you saw 'em do it?
I have no idea why people are in such denial - We now have confirmation that at least 4 MLB MVPs have used steroids (Bonds, Canseco, Caminiti, Giambi) - as if they are the only ones to do it and all the other guys like Sosa and McGwire just naturally put on 30-40 lbs of muscle...
there's just something about being a snitch that's so wrong. it would be one thing if canseco was clean and found out about them and was outing them for all the clean guys in baseball, but he was in their circle and is now turning on all of them for a buck. it's just wrong. even if we know they did it, it's still wrong. of course, since it seems likely that a ton of guys (especially the top guys) were doing it, it's almost non-news at this point. they did it, we all hid from it and loved the homers anyway, life will go on with better testing and we'll continue to love the memories of the past decade or so. and guys will continue to be bigger and stronger naturally through weight training and supplements than they were before the steroid craze and the homerun will continue to dominate baseball.
That interview was the only legitimate home run he's hit in his entire career, apparently. Good job; baseball's a joke.
This just goes to show you how far the Astros are behind the curve. The whole league is getting juiced. What the hell happened to the Astros? Seriously. Guys like Gerald Young should have been popping home runs for us a long time ago. But no. The other teams were so far ahead of us it was ridiculous. Caminiti, Luis Gonazalez, perfect examples of how far behind the curve we were. These guys were ripe for juicing. Yet we failed to see their potential. Teams like the Padres and Diamondbacks took full advantage of us. Both went to the world series leaving us behind. The Franchise has no vision
