i know he was a hawk temporarily, but sucked so turner got him into wcw as el gigante, then to the wwf as giant gonzales to fight the undertaker back in 93, but i cant find his stats, anyone know?
Didn't he blow out his knee before being able to play in the NBA? And wasn't that why Billionaire Ted had him in wrestiling? Not sure, but it might explain why he doesn't have any stats.
lol. that was the first wrestlemania i watched live...his character was classicly bad. i mean just terrible!!!!
From Pro Wrestling Insider: http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=3290&p=1 Jorge Gonzalez, the 7-foot tall basketball player from Argentina who Ted Turner sent to WCW to wrestle when he realized he was not going to be an asset to the Atlanta Hawks, is now retired and living in Argentina, last I heard. A few years ago, Bill Alfonso (who traveled with him during his WWF run) told me that Gonzalez never liked the travel (being so large made it even more difficult) and never had his heart in wrestling. I believe he also tried acting, but other than a few minor roles, that never worked out either. He apparently also suffered from diabetes. He owns a large farm in Argentina, and lives there.
Good old El Gigante! You know, that r****ded bodysuit WWF made him wear actually had an airbrushed-on buttcrack. I wonder what the thinking was when they designed that piece of crap.
do any of you guys remember the baywatch episode he was featured in? at least I think it was baywatch. didn't he live under a dock?
yeah that was it..he would like carve animals out of wood or something and everyone thought a monster lived there (typical story line) lol And no i don't watch baywatch..but at 2 or 3 in the morning when i was younger and not having cable i got to catch up with reruns lol
