if you could go back in time and choose jordan over dream , would you? ------------------ johnny "red" kerr:i'm glad the bulls did'nt draft steve francis. dan roan: why!!!!! johnny red kerr:because he would forever be compared to michael jordan.
I doubt Jordan would have stuck it out through the ugly years. After Sampson went down, and all the suspension dust had cleared, would he have been willing to run a one man show? I don't think so. Hakeem was strongly loyal to the city of Houston. This was his first good experience after leaving Nigeria, and he has always lived here since. So anyway, I guess what I'm saying is... we made the right decision. ------------------ "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, Damned Lies, and STATISTICS..." - Mark Twain -
Who do you think? MJ should of been the pick. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
Oh, no, not again! OK, I will settle this once and for all: We should have picked Sam Bowie!!!!!! Sailor ------------------ If Dream was a horse ... he would not be pulling your bandwagon anymore.
Some people prefer flash over substance... Hakeem 100 times out of 100. Is this a Houston Rocket forum or a Chicago Bull forum? ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
I think that both Dream and Jordan had flash and substance on the court. Off the court is a different story. ------------------ Live Rocketball. Breathe Rocketball. Die with Rocketball.
No doubt in my mind, Jordan. He's one of possibly the 2 greatest of all-time and among the only players ever to play that I'd say was one notch above Hakeem. ------------------ <this space for rent>
"if you could go back in time and choose jordan over dream , would you?" Are you asking us if we'd go back in time?!! I'd definitely go back in time...yesh!! But if I did, who cares about choosing Jordan or Hakeem. If I could go back in time, and pick all over again, I'd pick the looOvely Scheleen Johnson. And to think I had the first pick! oooo....ouch! LHutz...who would you have picked if you could go back to 1984... -------------------- regret is the spice of life! very spicy though!
If I could go back in time, I'd pick the lost love the never materialized....and Jordan. ------------------ Pippen who?...we have Walt now.
Well the Rockets had 2 chances to get Jordan the first was when they drafted Hakeem over MJ and the 2nd was when the Bulls offered MJ for Ralph Sampson and the Rockets wouldn't take! ------------------ -Junkyard Dog "Maybe we need an enema" - Othella Harrington
I cant go back in time nor will I think about this. The Rockets picked Hakeem, he is a Rocket and I am a fan of his period end of discussion. ------------------ ~John~ Hi, my name is John and I'm a clutchaholic. Houston NHL
oh shoot, i hope ya'll dont think i would have picked jordan, i just wanted to see what everyone else thought. hakeem olajuwon forever. ------------------ johnny "red" kerr:i'm glad the bulls did'nt draft steve francis. dan roan: why!!!!! johnny red kerr:because he would forever be compared to michael jordan.
I have enjoyed (nearly) every second of Hakeem's career here in Houston, including at U of H. (The only time I wasn't enjoying it was during the whole "fake injury" BS.) I don't regret not picking Jordan one little tinsy weensy bit. AT ALL! Any way when did Hakeem first get to the Finals? And when did MJ first get to the Finals? And who's to say if a little word called COCAINE hadn't happened, that we wouldn't made a few more trips in the 80s. ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem.
I would still pick Hakeem. However, I would sign him with Nike. If Dream had Nike's backing and the associated untouchable status Jordan recieved, he might not have endured the every night banging in the post that now has taken its toll. ------------------ Respect Hakeem's legacy. A championship in the hand is worth two in the bush!!
