Charlotte end of Raptors deal dead The part of a complex Raptors deal that would have sent Jose Calderon and Reggie Evans to Charlotte is dead, killed by Bobcats owner Michael Jordan according to league sources. The teams had signed off on the transaction that would have shipped Boris Diaw and Tyson Chandler to Toronto early Monday afternoon – with Chandler being he was to become a Raptor – before it died later in the day The other part of the transaction – Hedo Turkoglu from Toronto to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa – is still a go and could be finished as early as today. The nixing of the Charlotte part of the multi-team transaction is a sorry saga. The highly-respected Marc Spears of yahoo.com first reported Monday afternoon that the Chandler told him he’d been traded. Evans has also publicly said his goodbyes to Raptors fans through his twitter account before yahoo.com reported overnight that trade was in peril. What it means in the long run remains to be seen; Toronto officials are in Las Vegas and offered no comment. http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/ We might still be able to get Chandler.
Jordan probably finally got around to watching highlights of Calderon last year and not the highlights DVD that Colangelo sent him of the half a good season that he parlayed in $50 million. Calderon sucks
Only way Jordan kills that deal is if something else better turned up. Something else is about to go down. Something has to happen I would be shocked if talks got that far and the bobcats kill the deal and end up making zero moves.
Morey needs to find the Bobcats a PG from some other team so the Rockets can make a 3-4 team trade to get Chandler and get the Bobcats the PG they need.
not necessarily...like King1 eluded Calderon has a horrible contract which he isnt worth. Also, LB might have had something to do with it since LB does want a guy who plays defense
If you're going to get 3-4 teams involved, couldn't you come away with something better than Chandler?
Maybe Jordan wants Augustin to be the guy. He comes with a more realistic price tag. Chandler is expiring right? Could possibly be used for a huge coup later in the year. Jordan doesn't look all that crazy here.
Chandlers value is going to be at its highest at the feb. deadline. Anything Jordan gets now is going to be less then what he would get if he waits till then. Then there is the whole helping your competion angle. Once of Toronto's biggest issues last season was not having a rim protector in the middle. Toronto wining more games next year only hurts the Bobcats chances of getting a spot in the playoffs. I think when chandler gets moved it will be west.
The biggest thing on wizards mind is how to unload arenas on some sucker team. Opps i mean willing trade partner.
Houston : Chandler Charlotte: Sessions, Jeffries Wolves: Andersen Gives Bobcats a cheaper PG option than Calderon and an expiring in Jeffries. Wolves get an Expiring in Andersen and can go after Ridnour. Rockets improve their C spot and get an expensive expiring. Bobcats can still ship Diaw to the Raptors for something or whatever.
Time to jump in for Chandler. But we need to find Charlotte a PG...Just an idea. Houston Trades: Jared Jeffries, David Andersen, Alexander Johnson, 2011 2nd round pick Houston Receives: Tyson Chandler Charlotte Trades: Tyson Chandler, 2011 2nd Round Pick Charlotte Receives: Mo Williams, Delonte West Cleveland Trades: Mo Williams, Delonte West, Trade Exception Cleveland Receives: Al Jefferson Minnesota Trades: Al Jefferson Minnesota Receives: Jared Jeffries, David Andersen, Alexander Johnson, Trade Exception, Charlottes 2011 2nd round pick, Houstons 2011 2nd round pick Houston does it because they're able to pick up their rim protecting back up center. Charlotte does it because they're able to pick up a starting PG. Cleveland does it because they're able to get rid of the reason LBJ left and able to pick up Al Jefferson who they've been going after. Minnesota does it because they get rid of Jefferson and pick up expirings, draft picks, and trade exception.
Morey this is your chance. Take Tyson, alongside Brad Miller. With this we will have such a strong defensive presence down low all the time. Imagine... Yao/Tyson Tyson/Miller Miller/Yao Tyson/Scola Miller/Scola Yao/Scola Every time this will be deadly down low defensively for sure. Brooks can throw lobs to Tyson once an awhile. Yao will have plenty of rest. And we will have a big man at all times. Plus imagine Yao and Tyson.
perfect trade for the rockets address all our needs 1: Gets a Rim-Protecting big man that is a legit nba starter 2: Gets rid of the log jam and redundancy we have at the SF position 3: Makes our team that much more attractive to watch Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Perfect trade if you add draft picks to minnesota... Houston trades: Jeffries, Johnson, Andersen, 2011 2nd round pick Houston Receives: Chandler Charlotte Trades: Chandler. 2011 2nd round pick Charlotte Receivess: Jeffries, Sessions Minnesota Trades: Sessions Minnesota Receives: Andersen, Johnson, Houstons 2011 2nd round pick, charlottes 2011 2nd round pick
Houston: Jeffries Andersen Johnson for Chandler Charlotte: Chandler for Williams Johnson Cleveland: Williams for Jeffries Andersen
