Yes, there are centers out there who are bigger and stronger, but not as fast and as athletic as Hill. In the 26 mins. that he played tonight he showed a lot of that. I know that Yao is pretty much the franchise, but itwould only boost our bench more in the scoring department. I think what we have seen from Hill over th past 3 months assures me that he would be able to play with our starters. He is the real deal when it comes to rebounds and shot-blocking! I think we've found our center for the next 5-6 years.
No way he starts over Yao. Hard to see him starting over Scola though. If the team keeps up this playing though and are completely out of it by the all-star break then we will probably see it.
We have no problem at beginning of games. Houston won every 1 half og the first 4 games. The beginning of games is not a problem at all.
I duobt if it gets that bad. Just seeing him out hustle everyone on the boards tonight looks very promising.
umm? I dont disagree but Yao has been getting off to good starts and the team too because of it I think Hill should end the games and start to get minutes to learn how to close games out like Landry did at one point. The same Landry and Scola concept with Yao and Hill. No minutes for Hayes at center ever and no minutes for Miller unless we need some passes or fouls get in the way.
I know they won't start him in front of Scola but Hill is still growing he made a lot of mistakes out there tonight but overall i like the results he ended on a positive note. He was a beast when it was all said and done.
You guys have officially lost your minds if you think Scola should come off the bench. He is destroying the boards. He is also the only consistent scorer in crunch time so far this year. Hayes needs to be OUT of the rotation. I love him in when we need some post D, but that is going to be situational. Hill needs to backup Scola and bring his weakside shotblocking and rebounding to the table... 2 things we desperately need right now.
I've thought about it too. Maybe at PF. Scola off the bench, having always and inside reference in the game.
I'm really not for benching Scola. I just think Hill should start and they should bring Yao off the bench at least until he gets his form back 100%. Ecspecially against the Spurs where Hill played Duncan well.
play Yao and Hill together! Yao/Hill/CBud/Lee/AB with Scola/Martin/Lowry as super bench, Hayes/Battier/Miller/Jeffery are specialists I love both Yao and Scola, but it's not a good idea to play the two together. Scola is forced to be a jumper when playing with Yao, and both of them are slow on the D side.
I mean, does this guy inspire confidence in anything other than his physical tools? He really should have gone through D-League or Europe to get a working degree from basketball school... The paucity of serviceable big men these days is the only reason he has a NBA roster spot IMO.
Exactly... that move is looking like its more out of desperation than anything else when really Hill is more valuable and has a future to consider. Jordan's offensive game really isnt that bad he just seems hesitant out there which is totally natural. Actually I think alot of that is from the coaching staff. They need to just unleash him and let him play more free. He is not Chuck Hayes or Brad Miller and shouldnt be making those high post passes to cutters. His game is posting up and in the future it will be pick and roll when he learns how to put the ball on the floor more smooth. His next steps to becoming better will being able to put the ball on the floor, making the defense respect his jump shot, working on his free throws, and keeping the mean streak alive. He is a good shooter he just needs to shoot in rotation. Also free throws are also all about rotation. *also I dont know what it is about the hair but why is it he is starting to play like Joakim Noah and Anderson Vareajo?
