Nice clip. While Hill is still somewhat raw, he does show very good instincts for the ball and the putback, as well as length, athleticism and a fast second jump that you just can't teach.
I'm usually one of the more pessimistic posters here when it comes to the younger players' potential. But Hill was impressive in a Rockets uniform. Even at 6'10" w/ the long arms he still plays bigger than what you'd expect, with his quick leaping ability and aggressive court demeanor. He showed he's able to snare rebounds in traffic, get his hookshot off over taller defenders, and protect the rim on D. Add to this the fact that he's an unselfish passer, runs the floor well, has a jumper already with good form and range, has good touch in paint on those 5 foot floaters - this kid is very talented. Only question is whether he will be able to develop his body and his skills further now. But I'd rather wait to find out than trade him away at this point.
Haha that flop at :53 is hilarious. I guess J Hill does have the floppy hair though, so that makes him a good flopper.
Hill is good...he can be a much better and bigger Chuck Hayes if he'll work hard..but i'm not comfortable with him as a backup for Yao.
I would prefer him as PF, and has the perfect conditions to be a nice PF. A frontcourt with Hill+a 7 footer could be a nightmare for the rivals. A note: he looks to me taller and longer than Stoudemire. ¿?
LOL, why did you include that dunk where he gets hung and the ball just rolls in? otherwise, nice mix.
nice mix T! i like what i see in this guy...hardworking and great attitude to go with that raw talent.
Anyone else not buying Hill's "35" vertical?" Seems to me that for a tall guy his head is usually even with the bottom of the net. I'm not seeing the explosiveness. His game reminds me of Yao more than Amare - tentative, finesse play.
