Didn't see this posted yet. If it has forgive me but i saw this story and thought id post it! i think this really does effect Jordan's come back despite it being quite a few months till season starts... I was half asleep listening to Doug Collins and Marv Albert's closing words, but did anyone hear what I heard... paraphrasing Doug Collins... 'Marv I hope to see you next year at the MCI Center. It will be great to see 23 in uniform. I know you won't be there to see me...' something like that...I was like WTF! I must be dreaming. ------------------
Did he really say that? I missed it. I know Jordan said that the broken rib hurt him because he was just getting his timing back. It's going to take him just a little bit longer, but he shouldn't have a problem picking up where he left off. This is so weird. ------------------ "I'm not here to protect my reputation, I'm here to make my reputation! Mama Barkley didn't raise no chumps!" - Charles Barkley
He said: "If I see you at MCI center I know it will be because number 23 is in uniform, because I know you won't be there to see me." Or close to that. ------------------ Protrolls.com! Soon to be ProPorn.com!
ZRB, that's probably more like it. No way Doug Collins would say Jordan is 100% coming back. ------------------
Obviously, he can now delay his decision. It will be interesting to see who the Wizards draft. I wonder how he was leaning before the injury. If he does comeback, I can see the media using the rib injury to dramatize his comeback. ------------------
Collins did say if, but the fact that he plugged it on NBC so blatantly out of nowhere. Jordan and the band will suit it up again. ------------------ the best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be.
I think he is coming back. I wonder if he's pissed at Chuck for ruining the surprise. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."
Hahaha...collins is scared sh*tless that if mj doesn't come back, he'll be lucky to get 15 wins next year. collins is a stupid jackass of an announcer(worse than walton in my book) and even worse as a coach. ------------------
Collins gave up the # 1 color job at NBC. If he couldn't win with Jordan and a bunch of scrubs in Chicago, what makes him think he can do the same in DC? Collins couldn't win with Hill and Stackhouse in Detroit either. Jordan couldn't play under Hamilton so he fired him after one year. He hired Collins - a player's coach, someone who he could play under. He must have assured Collins of his comeback along with Barkley. It's the only reasonable explanation why Collins would comeback to coaching. If Collins thinks he can turn the Wizards around w/o Jordan and Barkley then he's crazy. ------------------
I really hope Jordan doesn't come back. And I agree that Collins is a terrible announcer. I used to like him, but he just gets on my nerves with constantly kissing Kobe's and Shaq'a asses. ------------------
The guy is a good announcer, even if he does kiss the behind of the hyped players to much. But to say he is a bad coach is COMPLETELY wrong. Doug Collins helped develop the Bulls team that Phil Jackson eventually inherited. Collins also took a Grant Hill team and turned them into a playoff team, and the season that Allan Houston left, leaving a gaping hole in the Pistons backcourt, Collins guided them to 50 wins and almost got homecourt advantage in the first round before settling for the 5 seed and a first round, 5 game series with Atlanta. So Collins is a pretty good coach. ------------------ "I'm not here to protect my reputation, I'm here to make my reputation! Mama Barkley didn't raise no chumps!" - Charles Barkley
My mock has the Wizards drafting Diop with the #1 pick. As much as the new coach Doug Collins drools over Shaq and Jordan probably resented playing with stiffs in the paint for the Bulls, doesn't anyone else see it shaking down this way? I'm feeling lonely here. ------------------ "How far you go in life depends on you being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak.
