I don't know if we need him during crunch time..or should is ay i don't want our team to be in a position that they need his 3 point shooting...

He is getting the benefit of T-Mac and Yao double teams and that is why JVG brought him here...he is a dead eye shooter and he can make the other team pay for doubling...him and mike james are really the help from the outside we needed...throw in Wesley and now you know how the offense is being run.

He's given us everything that we expected from Eric Piatkowski and more.

Thats great but Yahoos Rocket page has Rod Strickland as the Rockets top three point shooter at 50%. he doesnt have enough attempts to qualify but there is no way, even if he shot just a few, that he made half of them. That has to be a mistake.

At first I hated it when he pulling up a 3 pointer on a fast break. But not anymore since he can knock them down consistently.

He attempted 2 3-pointers, made one of them, so yes he's a 50% 3-point shooter..... thanks to Clutchfan's awesome database

One of the main reasons his 3pt % is so high is they DON'T look to him. He takes what the defense gives and no more. If he was more aggressive his % would drop. Let's leave well enough alone.

However, if/when we need him near the end of a game, he'll be there.

You're Mom is a genius! Maybe you should listen to her more, hell for that matter, maybe JVG should listen to her more. :D

That's ridiculous. He has a high percentage because he shoots when he has a good shot and he plays SMART basketball. Regardless of whether he's on the break or open from the corner he only takes the shot if he has a good look (he doesn't force anything) - but generally looks to pass first.

Actually his 3 pt percentage is 48.3% with Rockets, he shot only 34.4% in 16 games with Atlanta.

In other words, he has been playing out of his mind and career-best basketball since joining us! Kudos to J Barry!

I hope we toss some cash his way this summer, I know he is getting slow but he more than makes up for that with hustle and knowlege of the game and his shooting %... I would sign him to a 2 year deal with a team option on the second..

Eddie Johnson is one of my favorite Rocket role players EVER! He helped put the Clutch in Clutch City.

And yeah, Jon Barry is awesome. He's so confident right now in his three shot, and people STILL leave him wide open. He couldn't have found a better offense at this point in his career.

I'll be very disappointed if we don't re-up him after the season. It's been such a pleasure to watch smart players playing intelligent basketball, and playing at such a high level, regardless of age or injury, because they appreciate being on a team like the Rockets. With Yao and MaGrady giving them wide open looks, they must feel like they've died and gone to heaven.

Seriously, I don't recall Rod Strickland hitting a long jumper in his stint with Rockets.

Iam sure Barry along with Deke will the two most important guys the Rockets try to re-sign this summer. A two year deal sounds pretty good. Even though he is getting old, I still feel that he has alot left in the tank especially if he is only playing 15-20 mins a game (maybe less with Sura back). I just love watching him play. Plays smart and with alot of intensity. Cant ask for much more.

I love it when he makes those clutch 3's. It always seems that Jon makes the the 3 pointer that forces the opposing team to call a time out.

Jon Barry, like JJ and Mobley before him, shows just how open you can get when you play with superstars. Barry probably hasn't seen so many open shots since he entered the league.
