Jon Barry will begin co-hosting a half-hour talk show along with John Granato and Lance Zierlein on Sportsradio 610AM beginning this upcoming Monday (2/21). Jon will be talking Rockets basketball and taking fan calls every Monday morning from now until the end of the season. The show’s regular air times will be from 9:00-9:40AM, however, there will be some conflicts on gamedays which will result in a few date/time switches. The one this Monday (2/21) will actually air at 7am though.
jon barry is probably my third favorite player in the league. knows his role, high percentage shots, and occasionally does very tricky moves
man he really has done a great job. i don't know if anyone didn't want jon for tyronn but wow i love him now he's a great part of our team. And it's awesome that there's a show with a player..are there any other players who talk on shows? It'll be interesting..and of course someone will provide a recap here. btw charles barkley is on jay leno tonight..i think it might be a rerun though..cuz sum 41 too? never mind Jay's talking about Michael Jackson getting the flu.
More reason for me to COMPLAIN to 610 about them not streaming. The other major AM stations (news and sports) stream online. Why hasn't 610am gotten into the mix?!
I've caught Barry on the Rome show a couple of times and dude is a natural behind the microphone. He rarely settles for the typical cliche (playing it one game at a time) and always provides honest answers mixed with an excellent sense of humour.
Jon Barry really kick ass when you need him! Amazing shots that really put us on the score boards when you needed it. She's got no hesitation at all, and that's make him a competitor. Jon you are the man!!!
Boy, me too. And before the season, I would have scoffed at the idea that Jon would mean this much to the team. I heard someone on 610 this morning (I think it was CD) talking about how he is a leader in the lockerroom as well. I freaking love this guy.
Maybe if the Rox get Murphy back and if Barry doesnt end up on the big networks.... he can be our color comm....
I read somewhere in this board that they are in the process of doing streaming and it is due to some competition from a new sport radio channel in Houston... hopefully they can get it up soon....
Do you know anything about the TV situation during the playoffs if the Rockets make it.........pay-per-view.........TV51 KNWS.......? Thanks
nowadays all the playoff games are being shown on TNT, ESPN, ABC, and a few on NBATV. they don't have the PAYPERVIEW thing like they did back in the day, and TV51 doesn't carry playoff games.
