Umm....details? Link? EDIT: Nevermind, here it is: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaab/recap;_ylt=ApfOw1mVmp0wg36BvBE5AEs5nYcB?gid=200912090129&prov=ap
I now refer to that team as the Null Team. As in, everybody that loses to it will soon have a lost to a Null Team, as it is almost guaranteed at this point that the Null Team's wins will be vacated at some point in the future lol. But hey, just because the NCAA says it didn't happen doesn't mean it didn't happen right? The Fab Five, Calipari's UMass Camby and Memphis Rose teams didn't just come undone from the fabric of time right? Then you've got nothing to worry about Kentucky fans. If you're all right with that of course.
John Wall is exciting to watch. He is out of control at times though but at the end he was under control and made some huge shots.
Come on dude, that is WAY too harsh. Just because a kid is a star athlete does NOT mean he is an unintelligent cheater that can't get into college on his own. That's just plain stereotyping, and while I've never talked with Wall in person, it's insulting human dignity to automatically assume his entrance is illegitimate.
Don't sweat it... At this point UK fans and players are used to it... as were Memphis fans and players. I think people either love or hate Coach Cal and very very few are in the middle. It causes otherwise normally calm rational people to spew hate about situations they are only moderately knowledgeable about. I think that it's possible that some day the NCAA will find something wrong with the UK program or a UK player... but honestly, I don't think it will be John Wall. I also think the problem lies in the NCAA clearinghouse and the sheer number of asinine NCAA rules. Believe me I have read all the accusations and all the reports... of which there are a lot... and after that concluded the NCAA has major issues and is too stubborn to admit it.
I don't watch much college ball, but watched a lot of the game last night. Wall is sick. I'm never the type that tries to predict future success for college players, but I'd be damn happy if my team got his hands on him...
i've actually changed my stance on the one and done type players over the past few years. early on, i was all for the 1 yr in college, but i've completely turned opposite and think they should be able to enter out of high school.
I think they should let them go straight out of high school or at least make them stay in college for two years.
Yeah, one year just agitates the problem for fans, coaches and players. They should just use the same system as football: 3 mandatory years. While players can't get payed immediately, it's still the best system in terms of program stability and player development.
Right now, I'm just hoping the Jazz doesn't get him. With the current rules favoring guards, the guy is going to be awesome.
Maybe Wall would refuse to play for the Jazz, leading to a chain reaction that involved the franchise having to move out of Utah and Stockton and Malone developing shingles.
No one is implying Wall is a cheater. I am implying John Calipari is a cheater. He has had Final Four appearances rescinded not once, but TWICE, with two different administrations. And he got away scott-free both times. And you will find that the only apologists for him are the ones that benefit from his acts. What did Kentucky fans think of him before he joined? What about Memphis and UMass fans once he left? You deal with the devil and you pay the consequences eventually. Maybe not this year, but history says that this is inevitable. And I am not a hater. I am just a fan of college basketball who is lamenting what it has become. Calipari is far from the only guilty party, but he is certainly the most high profile--that's what you get with Worldwide Wes.
Don't see how Deron and he can fit together, but KJ and Kidd played very well together for a short while in Phoenix. It would be very scary if they could play successfully together.
