He's ok with me. I like his handles and quickkness and ability to get to the basket. I don't really expect much else out of him.

i don't know if it's the experience thing... but he looks like he doesn't know what to do, except drible, drible, and more drible, until he almost runs out the clock and either jack up or runs into a crowd. he doesn't know how/when to pass.

He's there to keep us OSU fans happy. The Rockets had to keep playing him to appease us after they didn't re-sign Stephen Graham.

    My take on JLIII...
When he gets minutes, he REALLY tries hard to make use of those minutes. He wants to show the people watching him that he can score, and sometimes just ball hogs too much. It doesn't matter because he doesn't get in the game unless we are up by a good amount anyway. By doing so, he will catch SOMEONE'S eye and maybe he'll get resigned in Houston or at least get signed somewhere else. His game doesn't stand out... he's a poor shooter and he's undersized but he's got great speed and can score pretty well.

As a matter of fact, I think that's what V-Span should do... whenever he gets into the game, try to prove a point and try to score every chance he gets.

I like him as an Earl Boykins type of change of pace player.

Ain't it grand to have nada to fret about other than an occasional Lil Luke sighting?

McGrady should have told him that:

JLIII is too short to see the floor well, so he doesn't pass as often as he should. He is only good for Boykins-style change of pace, when we do our small ball offensive burst.

He offers a change of pace on this team. I like his ability to score and he's fast. He's decent as the third PG on this team.

I think Boykins would be offended if you compared John to him :D

agree with the OP. however, from what i can remember, the few times he's had the chance to play with the starters, especially Tmac and/or Yao (moreso Tmac), he tones down his moochie impersonation and seems much more in the flow, gives up the rock more willingly (Tmac). maybe when he's on the floor with the scrubs he's got the attitude "this my my time to shine, i'm gettin mine." understandable, I guess (if true).

He really sucks. I think JVG plays him cause he sees potential. I am not a good judge of talent, I guess van gundy know better. I like to cheer for rookies like JLIII and VSpan, but I every time I see them on the court I get very very severe headaches.
