Don't know if this has been addressed, or if I'm hearing a time-delayedbroadcast, but John Lopez (of Houston) is being interviwed on ESPN radio...I'll try to summarize what he said...

    1) While it hurts him to say so, it makes the most sense for the Rockets to let Hakeem go...They simply can't afford to give him the money he feels he deserves without sacrificing the future...They wanted to give him the money after he had retired, by extending his contract past the point when he would be playing, but he was insulted...

    2) That Hakeem's ego is invlolved, and that he still feels he is owed, despite Lopez's opinion that last year's 15 mil was plenty enough of a thanks for the rings...

    3) While he can still really play, his game fits Toronto's system a lot more than Houston's..The Rocket's system utilizes the 5 as primarily a high-post passer, something Hakeem refuses to do...The Rockets are so atheletic and fast that it is a bit of a struggle for Hakeem...

    4) That this is clearly Stevie's team, and although Dream struggled with that last year, envisioning himself as still the anchor of the team for most of the year, by the later part of the season he had basically acknowledged that this was now Stevie's team...

Well, this is much better than the Rockets trading him against his will like they almost did in 99. At least this way, I can still be a fan of both Hakeem and the Rockets. If he had been traded to Toronto against his will, I would have HATED the Rockets. GOOD LUCK HAKEEM!!!!

ZRB, does this mean you are going to start angry threads every time the Raptors lose to the PaperClips, Warriors, Nuggets, etc.???

Can we just get what ever done!!!!!!
I'm tired of this crap, personally...
He doesn't want to be here anymore...fine
Lets either sign and trade him or renounce him and be done with it...

Lets look to the future of the Houston Rockets and say farewell to the past...

    Bye Dream and good luck
    Wish you well...
