And he wants to put Tim Duncan on there. The reason I'm putting this in this forum, no Hakeem.

Someone please email this fool's show.

West is an all time great.

I'd suffice to put Moses Malone on there in Dr J's spot. Tim Duncan is definitely headed for that list though.

You cannot question his dominance over this generation.

He's tops in birdies of efficiency right along with Shaq.

John Lopez is an idiot. I stopped listening to 790 because of his ridiculous opinions and GOD AWFUL ANNOYING Laugh! They spend more time on that show talking about their past and other REALLY stupid crap than they do talking about sports. And one more thing I hate......"We always let you finish" .............................They say this all the time when they are arguing with someone and most of the time they don't let the caller finish....and also, the callers, sometimes make more sense than he or that little "quagmyer" (however you spell that name). Bottom line, I could get more sports information from the back of a wheaties box than I would in that 3 hour show.

he was previously trying to say that you could replace hakeem with yao and still get those 2 championships. he's a complete dumba$$ so no surprise that his list sucks too.

hakeem is one of the 10 greatest players of all time period.

john lopez is horrible. very annoying with limited sports knowledge. all they end up doing on the show is discussing girls and other matters not related to sports. i still cant believe that he said you could switch yao for the dream and wed still have those 2 rings. whats even more disturbing is that it wasnt a one time mistake. rather he stuck by this statement and kept defending it for a week straight. stubborn and ignorant. i wonder what CP thinks of him.

Its funny, the argument has stirred toward shaq vs. hakeem. I actually don't have a big problem with hakeem not being on the list. Its just that he gave the list and didn't even mention hakeem. Now as he stated when the first hakeem call came in, he knew that someone would call in and say hakee, so maybe he did it for effect. but to just shoot duncan on it and not mention dream is outlandish.

over the weekend, lopez speculated that brad lidge would be out of the league next season. if you know the first thing about baseball...particularly regarding lidge's progress over the past monty...you know how ridiculously foolish this is. to the point of being so absurd that i don't know if the man is actually watching these games or just sort of using the force.

i'm the biggest justice detractor there is. but this guy is worse than richard. congrats richard. you don't suck as bad as lopez.

Both 610 and 790 have made the mistakes of featuring the Houston COMICAL writers as main sources of "information".

Its horrible... god-awful... beyond reproach. Houston fans should demand better. Radio gurus shouldn't use hacks (who look waaaay too eager to soak up that on-air spotlight) as guys who are supposed to be the level-headed knowledgeable ones in the community.

I would be fine if Houston did what WEEI (Boston) did and discontinue all involvement with the local paper columnists. Keep them separate... then maybe we won't be exposed to the SAME STUPIDITY not only on the airwaves, but in the print media as well.

Hell, Tim Melton, Bob Allen, and Gifford Neilson is looking smarter and smarter everyday because of these clowns, and I'd never thought I'd say that about local tv sportscasters.

i would expect hakeem to be on the list. this guy writes for a local paper in houston right? jeez. even if he didn't think the guy deserves a spot he had better give him one.

anyway, my list would look like this...with dream of course:

    1. mj
    2. wilt
    3. kareem
    4. russell
    5. dream
    6. magic
    7. bird
    8. shaq
    9. oscar
    10. west

    top 5 for sure!

i really like allen. he's a good guy...he's smart and he's funny. furthermore, he's been here a really long time and his finger on the pulse of the teams here. i'd love for him to be on the airwaves, though i doubt he's interested.

I like him mainly because of how he ripped into the Texans (with his post-game interviews of Casserly, Capers, and Carr), rather than be another yes-man... and keep in mind, he works for a tv station that is supposed to be the flagship of the Texans organization.

But once these guys go to radio, they get this overwhelming sense that they're supposed to entertain us as well as inform us. I don't know where it comes from, and if the average listner actually needs to be entertained by stories of how the host went out and ate dinner over the weekend, or what the host did when he woke up this morning, then I really overestimated the average Houstonian.

I wouldn't put Hakeem above Magic or Bird. Hell, I wouldn't put Wilt or Kareem above Magic and Bird because of the respective eras those two giants played in (when there were no other giants).

If the Yao of today played in Wilt's time (or even Kareem's time), nobody would be questioning his toughness, his killer instinct, or his chances of being a consistent dominant force.... he'd dominate by default because of his size compared to the other minions who played in the 60's and 70's.
