    Bingo. Edwards has to address it. As someone above suggested, he really should do it this weekend, and let it die under an avalanche of Olympic coverage. If he doesn't, it's going to come out on the National Enquirer's terms, which will suck for him.

    Claims “he does not love her”

    Claims he is not the father.

    implied the affair was in the past.

    Claims he isn’t paying her to keep quiet.

    So what the hell would he doing in the hotel room of a ex-mistress, with whom he has no romantic or financial ties, who someone else had subsequently knocked up, at two thirty in the morning?

    Well, Democrats definitely dodged a bullet by not nominating Edwards. And thankfully this news came out before he was asked to play any role in an Obama administration.

    The level of his hubris, stupidity, and selfishness is staggering. Cheating on your cancer-stricken wife is bad enough, but he betrayed millions of his supporters by engaging in this affair while running for President.

    There is stuff on Obama that will come out that will make this story look insignificant. What this story shows is that despite a lot of vetting, major things can get hidden from view for long periods of time...
