Traitors, eh? I see you're all for bipartisanship. Perhaps some people in politics feel that a difference of opinion is no reason to reject someone's nomination. And democrats.com has got to be the funniest link I've seen posted ever. Think for yourself, don't let a political party tell you what to think.
Please , give me a freakin' break, i do think for myself, i know that voting outside the two major parties is wasting a vote. so i choose the democrats. Saying that i dont think for myself is really ignorant on your part . if that had been a republican link, would you have said anything? very doubtful. So please keep your derogatory comments to yourself. they are neither constructive or enlightening. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com
Political parties don't have beliefs! What they 'think' is ruled by money and special interest. Give us a link to a place that actually stands for something. And you're right, I probably wouldn't have said anything if it was republicans.com. That's because most of the posters here are lefties and I try to be different. LOL.
What are you talking about? If one party is behind things that i believe in such as (a woman's right to choose,etc.). i could care less if it is ruled by special interest . ------------------ http://www.democrats.com
Oh freak! Do you really belive this? You and I have butted heads before about politics and we've both got in our shots. Now you know that I pretty much defended the Demos during the election. And you know that I don't like Bush. From your posts in the past, you have ridiculed people who have defended Clinton and/or the Democrats. I called you on it one time, calling you a Republican. You denied that. You have never really declared how you feel about which political party you favor, if any. So give it up. Who DID you want for Prez? ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.'
Just wonderful. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams fan club. Web site coming soon atheistalliance.org
Back on topic, Outlaw, do not despair, this whole vote was a message, make no mistake. The demos pretty much said, "okay, you can have your attorney general, but hear this, we can stop you). The real fights will come with the Supreme Court. But there's more, there are many appellate judges that need to be appointed and the demos have made it clear they will be watching any appointments. Its just getting started. ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.'
dc rock, Does your warning also apply to Ashcroft's friend, Clarence Thomas? I think this whole Chicken Little "The sky is falling" routine is getting old very, very quickly. ------------------
You just did yourself a major disservice. If you claimed you just repeated mindless slogans which only serve to weaken how we view politcs then you would have more credit. If you independtly came to the conclusion that we are stuck with only two parties and true change can never be introduced then I truly feel sad for you. If you came to the conclusion that there is actually a meaningful difference between the two parties and that one of them represents your views better than the other then that is certainly understanable. But to say that there is someone else who better represents you but you won't support them becuase it is too hard is lazy and ignorant. Have fun being stuck with the status qou, cuase true change ain't never gonna happen without third parties. The only wasted vote is a vote for someone you don't believe in. The lesser of two evils is still evil. dylan ------------------
third parties do help make changes in the two party system but thats all (right now). in my lifetime i probably will never see a president that isnt a republican or democrat. So why should i vote for someone that will never win, who has the same views as a person who has a good shot at it. it sounds like you are saying that republicans and democrats are alike, they might be, slightly, but there is many differences between the two parties. And in this past election Al Gore and Ralph Nader had very similar ideas, so am i going to vote for the guy who will lose or the guy that might win who has very similar views? But let me be clear, i am liberal, when i went to vote i didnt vote for a guy that i thought was a lesser of two evils. I voted for a guy that i believed in, although he may have some flaws, overall he was the man that i wanted and hoped to be president and honestly i didnt think anyone else was capable of doing the job. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com
1.clarence thomas is not in the minority. 2.take it easy, it was a joke pal.your seriousness is getting old very quickly. ------------------ http://www.democrats.com
Bipartisanship can kiss my ass. How much has Bush shown? With his token democrat appointment to a weak cabinet spot? It's important for the democrats, having no majority in any branch of the federal government, to show solidarity, even if it means losing by Cheney's vote. And Republicans have never shot down a nominee based on a "difference of opinion"? Ashcroft himself was responsible for two rejections because he had different beliefs than the nominees. Now all of a sudden it's not OK because he's in the hot seat? ------------------

I dont have the exact history of John Ascroft in front of me, and am too lazy to look it up. And I certainly dont beleive the man is straight as an arrow when it comes to minorities. But I am fairly certain, when he was voted into his position in Missouri, he had the support of a large number of black and minority judges throughout the state. I dont really get into these politics threads, so I dont know who is being too serious or not. But Clarence Thomas is obvious in the minority. To allude that he's not because his beleiefs may not follow every other black American is ridiculous. The man is obviously for equality. As far as the majority of posters on this board being lefties, I have to agree. Why are there no bash CLinton and his obviously unfair pardons threads to equal things out a bit. BTW, anybody see the 20 min. SNL thing last night with CLinton pardoning the Little Rock rapist who has yet to be caught. Classic. ------------------
