This is shocking. Another Bulls boradcaster Norm Van Lier just died earlier today.

Kerr was also in the HOF final list for this year.

    RIP.

I live in Chicago, and Red was truly an old school Chicago voice. His health went down these last few years but this is still a shock. Norm Van Lier and Johnny Red within a day of each other? Man...this is a sad day in Chicago. RIP to the both of them. Chicago just got a little colder. Damn.

I remember he was calling games just last year on WGN, I know he's a chicago sports Icon.

Absolutely mindblowing. Sad day today in Chicago. I know I heard about Stormin' Norman on my way home from work, that was already sad as Norm was iconic. But to lose Johnny Red this morning as I'm driving to work, seeing as they JUST had his ceremony the other night at the United Center adds onto the grief felt at the end of this week by Chicago fans. Both will be remembered and treasured. I'm happy Red at least got to see his statue and have his ceremony, along with getting the hall of fame lifetime achievement award. It's a shame he's not in the hall already, but at least he felt happier knowing he was honored by the hall.

How ironic yet fitting, that just few weeks earlier during the Red Kerr ceremony, Norm was sitting in the studio at halftime for Comcast Sports Net, and was upset that they wouldn't let him leave to go honor/celebrate for his buddy Johnny Red's ceremony....and now he left the world the same day as Red. Hopefully they ran into each other on the way up. =)
