What is up with this situation.

Why did Millen draft Harrington? In my opinion Mike McMahon looked like a stud last season. Reminded me a little of Brunell, Young.

Joey Harrington is an example of a player that was talked up a ****load before the draft so he went really high. He is going to bust, no doubt about it.

Just saw a ESPN training camp thing on the Lions, thats why i mentioned this.

Nomar, dont you think it`s a bit early to say he`s going to be a bust. Joey has been talked about for quite a few years and was a pre season Heisman hopeful, and if I recall he was one of the finalists. I wont even point to his last bowl game in which the guy looked fantastic. When you have a franchise QB available in the draft you take him, just as the Texans did. Give the guy a chance before you declare him a bust. From what I read before the draft, McMillan did not want to draft Harrington although apparently he was overruled by the CEO, Mr. Ford

As a player, Joey looked impressive at the Rookie Shoot. He's got a good arm and was fairly accurate with his throws. I think the guy just knows how to win and possesses those valuable "intangibles" not found in other quarterbacks (like, oh, football smarts). As a person, though, he was a bit cocky and quite a smartass. When everyone was ribbing me for being the youngest guy at the shoot, Harrington decided to join in on the fun and kept calling me "Rookie." Then, he threw a granola bar at me (and in true quarterback fashion, it hit me square in the chest). :( So I said, "Who're ya calling rookie, rookie?" He just shrugged his shoulders and gave me his classic Harrington smirk. True story...

As a Lions fan I'm ecstatic that the Lions picked up Joey Harrington. Mike McMahon looked okay, but it would be foolish to think he's got the kind of potential that Harrington does. McMahon will never have a great pro career -- it's just not in the cards. He had a few okay games. That's it. At his best, he's a journeyman starter or a solid backup. Harrington could turn into a hall of famer.
