Basically I'm asking how much longer do you think the Rockets will wait on him? I mean this is only his second season but if he shows just strides this season of potential do you think Morey will pick up his team option?
he'll probably be working as a bouncer at a bar somewhere in a couple years, so i might actually get that opportunity
i assume u mean by participating on winning teams at memphis... but of what use is he now? he doesn't belong in a professional bball league. at age 25 going on 26, how do u see him spending the next ~50 years of his life?
Maybe because his IQ is about the same as his basketball IQ. How many people can look as clueless as Joey Dorsey on both ends of the court after already being with the team for over a year?
According to some on here, his 'potential' is astronomical. 26 years old. By the time he reaches said potential he will be past his prime.
Tommy: You know, a lot of people stay in college for 7 years. Richard: Yeah I know, they're called doctors. Tommy on this season: Oh no, here comes the meat wagon.
I'm excited to see Dorsey play. I hope he can stay out of foul trouble so he gets a chance to contribute. And it always ticks me off to hear people on the board bad mouthing players. Even if they don't make it at the NBA level that far from means they are a failure. Dorsey is an awesome basketball player and I hope he is able to contribute this year. But even if he doesn't contribute, all this hate is just senseless.
I know many intelligent folks who stayed in school as long as they could. Whatever Dorsey's situation, length of stay in college determines nothing. Coursework might say something. Did you all see that Yao is reading history books in his free time while his foot mends? "Trying to learn more about what has happened in the last 100 years."
Do you live in the Rio Grande Valley? b/c according to Morey's interview from today, Dorsey is likely to be sent down to the d-league for awhile.
Have you heard Dorsey interviewed? I lost count of the number of mispronounced words and really bad grammar. I don't mean just conversational grammar I mean just plain bad english. He clearly wasn't studying for those 7 years in college.
Dorsey earned some of the scorn he receives here because of his attitude last year. Morey going public with that information (a couple of times) was very unusual for this organization which usually protects players from outside criticism. And if Dorsey is an "awesome" basketball player, we need to erect a statue of Chuck Hayes in front of the TC now. I'm a history buff and I've read three books this year (that I can think of) that deal with events that occured in my lifetime. There's information, new-found evidence that people didn't have access to which changes what history becomes. And you whip out Yao as being analagous to Dorsey intellectually? Wow. Brilliant.
