cleveland: http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2009/03/cavaliers_insider_joe_smith_lo.html and I looked over on the cavs board and they had an insider post the information way before it was even announced he was waived: http://www.realcavsfans.com/showthread.php?t=18116 just wondering cause ive only browsed this forum in the past years, who are the insiders here? Clutch is one right?
Well it was already reported that if Smith was indeed bought out he would be heading to Cleveland, but im curious to see where Stro ends up.
That's sad news and all but wouldn't Stro mentioning he doesn't want to play again imply there was some sort of desire for his services in the first place?
Guy's mom just died and you're still going to crack jokes about him. C'mon man, show a little respect.
If you found my harmless comment offensive you should really adjust your sarcasm meter a notch or two. There's no disrespect intended towards his deceased mother by merely cracking a joke that nobody wants him in the first place. I mentioned I considered it "sad news" and understandably so.
joe smith and or drew gooden would look nice playing behind yao, but then what happens with landry and hayes?
I always thought Stromile would benefit from a more open uptempo style - something that took advantage of his athleticism and instinct and was low on the "system" part of the game that would require thinking and reading before reacting. He might be a decent pick up if he shook out on a team like the Suns, Knicks, or possibly the Hornets but I don't know if those teams necessarily have the roster spot to sign a guy like him.
ill always respect Stromile, he was a professional when he was here and under appreciated by the fans, he didn't live up to the expectations, but did decent for what he did he was great with the fans, after the open practice back before the 05/06 season, he was autographing everything and anything that was being thrown to him, even the Rockets H/R told him to stop and he just shrugged them off and keep signing. I really do hope he finds some time to play somewhere.
*does not include learning plays or understanding roles and responsibilities on defense. Did get a 'P' for attendance on his report card, though.
Swift had a very successful career (money wise) for such a scrub. but it is a shame that he is no better than Landry.
Stro is highly athletic and can block shots, but he is too inconsistent. If only he had a consistent mid-range jumper, it would open up so many things for him. He'd be a poor man's Amare.
