This is an underrated signing. I think $8 mill is cheap and I wouldn't be surprised if he lasts after a year or even for the whole 4.
I have no problem with this guy backing up Sengun. No idea if he's better than Garuba, but at least he's not 6'8".
https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/in...-agency-2023-reaction-biggest-signings-summer Houston Rockets Deal: Agreed to a reported four-year, $32 million contract with center Jock Landale This time a year ago, Landale was being rerouted to Phoenix after being included as salary filler in the San Antonio Spurs' deal sending Dejounte Murray to the Atlanta Hawks. Landale made the team, then emerged as a trusted reserve in the playoffs. Still, Landale isn't the kind of defensive anchor Houston wanted. In a league where centers are more efficient than ever -- the average center posted a .629 TSP -- Landale's .593 mark was unimpressive. Perhaps he was unwilling to wait out Lopez's negotiations, but I would have rather targeted the player the Suns landed to replace Landale: Drew Eubanks.
Why are people acting like he wasn't a good backup last year? Maybe because they don't know what the hell they are talking about....
He is not a interior defender, he is a offensive center. He like to shoot 3s, and has a nice shooting touch, big body, physical and tough. He is a 3rd Center on a good team we need a interior defender
Still feel like something else is coming, perhaps at the 4. These moves make me very doubtful they're happy with just assuming Jabari will start. But we'll see.
OG? With David Anderson, you haven't even gone far enough to hit Von Wafer, Mike James, Kirk Snyder, the mystery that was Andre Turner, etc. #13 was a wondrous number. And to me the REAL OG #13 - Larry Smith. But I'm not gonna lie - I had David Anderson wiped from my brain until that comment, too.
