Interesting. I probably would've done this a couple years ago. People have said I have a "voice for radio" for years now, which I always found odd. (as in I guess I'm too ugly for TV, but radio is good!)
I actually thought Steve Mark did a great job when he co-hosted with Ted. I hope they don't go national like they did with Davies and stay local with someone who has some sort of Houston Sports knowledge.
LOL, nice try 790. Trying to generate buzz with a contest and also saving money by paying a newbie much less than an experienced host would cost.
it would be fun, except for the fact that watching the astros 162 times a year would be in the job description. dont know if i could do that
Hell, I bet Rich Lord only watches about a fraction of that (with the Rockets too) with the venom that he spews.
Charlie Palillo needs to leave AM790 and it should shut down or switch to another format. The station has been dead in the water since it changed to sports. Time to give up and admit failure.
You know what could make Houston sportsradio even worse? I've got the answer... Spoiler Clyde Drexler
Win!! He's bad. He really doens't even try anymore. I guess trying out at 790 would be like the pre-season, just show what you got to the other stations and you may be picked up after 790 folds.
You know what Jim? When you called into 610 a couple of weeks back, you really DID have a good voice for radio. You probably don't have the sports background to be an "every day" host... but if you're half as entertaining on radio as you are on the BBS then I'd listen every day.
Thanks. If I didn't have my current job, I'd probably give it a shot. Who knows, though? Maybe I'll have enough free time later on to give it a shot.
