please, stop inundating us with details. knowing what you are looking for or work background isn't that important.

Honestly I am not even looking for anything specific. At my last job I was a compliance analyst for money transmitting company. Not very many of those around. It was basically alot of customer service and excel sheets and sending reports to the government reporting suspicious activity. The full title was Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Analyst. But like I said I havent found any other opening for that.

The job before that I was doing the same thing only with a little more focus on the customer service and less on compliance. If you think you could help I would be more than happy to send my resume.

"Its easier to get a job when you have one", I must have heard this phrase a hundred times when i was looking. My advice to you would be to just take some crappy job in retail or something until you can land something decent. I guess it also depends on how old you are, college degree, etc.

For some reason this reminds me of a seinfeld episode,George Costanza asking Jerry for career advice......

    Jerry:What do you like doing?
George: I love sports, maybe I can be one of those analyst guys.
Jerry:You know, those jobs usually go the players :p

Sorry to de-rail the thread but I'm also looking for work right now

I'm about to graduate from UT-Austin next friday and really don't have a job or any plans lined up lol.

I'll have my B.S. in Advertising and in addition a B.A. in Government so if there's any Advertising or Government jobs out there someone can hook me up with I'd appreciate it although it's not a dire situation yet- I'll have time to find work when I'm done with finals and graduation. Oh and the job can be Houston, Dallas or Austin I don't really have a preference at this moment

    thanks a lot - K04A

I told alot of people about VZW back at EV1 when I left and alot got hired except one crackhead who's name wont be mentioned (but I think Dave2000 knows) who didnt pass the drug test..haha :D

Try tech support or wireless data support.
You just gotta find someone who is already working there to get the answers for the phone screening and onsite test ... which is really stupid.

I don't blame you at all for posting. Keep up the good effort!!

I may be hiring a paralegal in the next 6 months.

    Why not try that field?

I'd say take anythng. Don't let your cash run down. Quit in a day if needed to pursue the next opportunity. . Lie on your resume etc. You cannot afford to be too honest when dealing with many employers. Many will not be honest with you.

    Good LUck.

are you hiring a paralegal because of advice such as this  :D

good advice though... didn't a ceo of some major corporation lie on his resume? he still made out like a bandit with all the $$$ he made.

I'd actually prefer not to lie. I had a friend revise my resume and she lied to the point where it didn't even look like my resume. No way I was going to use it. I wouldn't even feel comfortable sending in one where I lied even a little bit.
