Yep. A good showing here and it will go along way. I'm hoping for multiple sacks and constant disruption.
With strong winds the bears will rely mostly on their run game and quick passes. I doubt he will get many sacks today
So that's what those double teams we were always claiming Mario used to get look like  Great win on the road in the pure slop all night.
Great win, but if Watt plans to win the MVP this year, he needs to step it up in the national TV games. Being sack leader alone won't win him anything but Defensive Player of the Year... still a Super Bowl ring would be a nice substitute.
he was literally double and tripled teamed last night. it was obvious the bears were going max protect a lot.
True but the fact is that the NFL powers that be don't want to give a defensive player the MVP, for him to reach that level he has to have a legendary campaign with some highlights in big games where most of the NFL has to take notice.
Alas, no sacks for Watt yesterday, but he did get some good stops, even while being double teamed. I expect he will have a sack or two against Jacksonville. I want him to have another dominant game soon. Definitely against the Colts since I will be at that game cheering him on with my jersey on.
He had a nice TFL on a goal line stand. And drew a holding flag late, he was getting a lot of attention from their O Line too. Weird considering how much "Bigger and stronger than the Texans" they were.
Wade Phillips @sonofbum @TexansDefense our opponents have 99 problems-number 99 J J Watt! View conversation Reply Retweet Favorite Posted on Nov 16th
I believe he did it against Jville as well, Watt twice today stopped them for a loss that pushed the opposition out of game winning fg range. The dude is unbelievable.
Unfortunately, every time I see Watt making a play, I also see all other defenders getting blocked. He should be MVP simply on the basis that everyone else can't shed a block to their lives.
