Never really thought he was a serious contender in the first place, but it’s interesting to see what the republican reaction will be. ---------------------- (CNN) – Bobby Jindal — the Indian-American Louisiana governor who is widely viewed as one of the frontrunners for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination — flatly said Tuesday he's not interested in seeking the White House. "No," Jindal said definitively when asked if he was interested in being president, according to The Associated Press. Jindall made the comments at a Richmond, Virginia, news conference, during which he endorsed Bob McDonnell – a Republican running for governor of Virginia. Jindal said instead he has his sights set on seeking reelection to his current office in 2011. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/12/10/jindal-says-no-to-white-house-run/
LOL, what is he supposed to say, when the guy people just voted in hasn't even started yet? "Yes, I want to be president, RIGHT NOW! Move over Hussein Osama!!!!"
This means absolutely nothing. If enough in the GOP want him in 2012, he will run. I doubt that happens. mcmark, I share your sentiments about Jindal. I can't see the guy getting nominated and winning a national election. Maybe he could be a V.P. choice. Probably has a future as a cabinet member. I sure hope he's able to shake some of dirt out of Louisiana politics, but the way things work, he could make a lot of enemies and be radioactive by 2011.
Of course he's planning to run for president. What he's "not interested" in is running against Obama.
The next sentence from that article (or added sentence): But AP reports Jindal, whom many Republicans view as best positioned to transform the party's image, did not rule out the possibility he may change his mind about a White House run. So apparently, it means nothing.
Speaking also as an indian, and knowing some of his anti-immigrant policies I would not like to see him in the white house.
He's going to change his mind about running for president when 2014 rolls around. Of course his sights are on reelection in 2011 now. If he loses that, all bets are off.
He probably is. I would need to see his birth certificate. I hear he's not running because he isn't really a natural born citizen.
