Nice try, Patrick July 24, 2001 BY JIM ROME FOXSports.com This next take is extremely graphic in nature. You've been warned. I knew it was only a matter of time before testimony at the Gold Club trial in Atlanta really heated up. Initially, the only significant testimony involved management teaching the strippers to con athletes into buying leather jackets, extra champagne and dinners from the club. Whatever. But testimony exploded Monday when Patrick Ewing took the stand. Ewing admitted to going to the club about 10 times and to receiving free oral sex twice in a backroom while the owner and manager of the club looked on. Look, if Ewing says under oath that he went to the club 10 times, I'm just going to put that number at about 30. My favorite part is him saying he went 10 times but received free sexual favors only twice. What athlete says no to free sex? It probably went something like this, right? "Hey, Patrick welcome back to the Gold Club, would you like some free oral sex?" "Nah, I'm good, maybe some other time." Probably not. I'm guessing, "Hey Patrick, would you like some free sex?" "Yes." That's probably more like it. Nice legacy, Pat: You never won a ring, and you want us to believe that you declined free sex. ****** Wait, there's more: A former stripper said she witnessed sex acts performed on former NFL MVP Terrell Davis and Philadelphia 76er Dikembe Mutombo. Mutombo and Davis are two of the best guys in their respective sports. As for Davis: If you're getting freaky in the backroom of the Gold Club, you probably don't want to be doing Campbell's soup ads also. Nothing will sell a can of vegetable soup quite like a guy who gets a bunch of oral sex at a strip club. This former stripper, Jana Pelnis, also testified she went back to the hotel room of a former wrestling executive to perform sex acts on his wife. She also said that she and another dancer performed a lesbian sex show for Ewing and some friends. And that's not even the most amazing thing about her: Pelnis, the woman who ratted everyone else out, is now working at a day-care center in Georgia. A day-care center. Wonderful. Who wouldn't want to leave the kids with a woman who used to perform lesbian sex shows for NBA players? I can't wait to see what comes out of the courtroom today. I wonder who else's life will be ruined today. ------------------
Too bad TD is one of the mentioned athletes. I really liked him and thought that he was a good role model for us younguns. ------------------ President of the Eddie Griffin fan club. Reggie McNeal will take A&M to the Big Game and I'll be there!!! Go Aggies!!!
role model? its not like that we can roll up into a strip joint and expect free sexual favors. if he's not a married dude, than he didn't really do anything wrong in my opinion. well, having sex with strippers with other dudes in the area is kinda wierd ------------------
I agree. I'm a bit disappointed in that . . . Did y'all hear the guy who called into Rome and said he was in the gold club and heard "Who wants to sex Mutombo?" and everyone darted -- HILARIOUS! ------------------ I'm looking for a job, so hire me "And I just have to smile and say 'well, I hope so' while I'm really thinking inside how I'd like to just strangle them and take their job."
Vengeance - I heard that on the Rome show and I couldn't stop laughin for about 5 minutes!!! The caller sounded just like Mutumbo too. ------------------ President of the Eddie Griffin fan club. Reggie McNeal will take A&M to the Big Game and I'll be there!!! Go Aggies!!!
Here's my take on Mutumbo: I was disappointed in Dikembe’s decision, even though I’m not Sixers fan, but because I used to respect him as a person, Now most of that respect has gone away. I am sure that in his native country Zaire that he is probably one of the most, if not most, popular athletes. I am sure that there are a lot of kids that consider him a role model and heard about what he did. Even if only 1 child is affected by Dikembe’s actions, I will be mad at him for that. That is one life that he might ruin. I feel bad for his wife, because no woman should have to go through what she is going through. Having your husband going to strip clubs and having affairs with dancers is something that will terribly hurt you. I wouldn’t be surprised if she divorces him. Divorce is wrong, but in the Bible it said that if your husband or wife has committed adultery, than you can divorce him or her. I think that Dikembe should be ashamed of himself. Before the Gold Club incident he was known as a humanitarian. Now I am sure that he has lost support from church groups and other religious groups. I know that star athletes are dealt with many temptations, but you have to not give in to it. I know that Dikembe has children, so this could make a huge impact in their lives. I just hope that the next time Dikembe or any other athlete or person is put up against temptation that they don’t give into it, because their decision could impact their lives in a good or bad way. ------------------ The Highest Leapers in the NBA

If he's getting free head then he is definitely my role model. ------------------ Reporter asks "How close were you to the victim?" Shorty says,"Real close until the roofies wore off.
