did anyone listen to this today? it was the 14th annual smack off (if you're not familiar with the Jim Rome Show, it's where a bunch of creepy weirdos call and run their mouths). Despite the fact that I kinda hate Jim Rome, I thought the smack off was very entertaining.. the fact that callers were getting creative with songs/poems and throwing insults at each other like a bunch of middle school punks was very intriguing. I thought Joe from the O.C was the best..Iafrate, the winner of this competition for the second time, was pretty great two, especially with the Hillary reference.. Now I understand that a lot of people here despise Jim Rome, and I was one of those people.. now, after listening to his show daily for about 4 months (I have to because that's the only thing on Radio during my lunch break other than "the monsters", which is a pretty ghey show except for the lightning round), I don't hate him that much anymore.. in fact, I kinda find his stuff somewhat entertaining.. but regardless of him personally, you gotta love the stupidity of those callers who spend a lot of time preparing some "smack" to scream on national radio..
been listening to jim rome since 2004, this year, i got a desk job, and cannot listen. how did cablinasian do? iafrate won? man i wanna listen to this... but i dont want to pay
what was the reason behind sean being unable to call? it's cause he works for 1560 now? didn't JT the Brick, SmackOff I Winner, was still able to call? even though he had a radio show?
If I had remembered, I would have listened. But I didn't and it's no great loss. It can be entertaining at times but ultimately, I don't give a crap what Jim or his clones have to say.
so 1560 didnt let him call, or what? does he work during those hours? thats lame he really held it down for h-town
I think 610 had a problem with him participating, so he wasn't allowed.. since JT wasn't on a competing station (actually, he works for premiere radio network, same as Romey) .. wait, did I just call him Romey?
I usually catch a little bit of Rome everyday. Did Vick actually call and go first in the smackoff? Just curious because i wanted to the hear the Jay Mohr attack that was going to follow.
I think Vick went first, but I am not sure.. when I started listening, Vick has already gone and callers were bashing him big time.. Rachel from Houston is an absolute joke.. she is a disgrace to Houston with her manly voice... the funniest thing was Joe from O.C sining "hey Rachel, shave your back" toward the end of his call.. again, Joe from the O.C was the best IMO.. one of the funniest things I heard on that show today was someone "I think it was carbone" calling Tmac "cyclops" .. my buddy and I were both wearing our Tmac jerseys and listening, and then bam, this guy goes "and let's talk about the biggest choker ever Tracy McGrady; hey cyclops, I know you can look at the basket with one eye while looking at a hot chick in the 17th row at the same time, but maybe you should stop choking.. Landry saved ur a$$ ...etc" .. I thought "cyclops" was absolutely hilarious.. and can I complain enough about this r****ded Rachel? she actually said "the rockets are disappointing me and they are doing horrible, and they'll probably get swept".. I mean, I understand that you wrote the thing a couple of days ago, but atleast try to watch your hometown team and know that they actually won and they didn't disappoint and won't be swept.. /rant
I could be wrong, but I don't think she said they could get swept. I thought she said that it looked like there was a good chance that they wouldn't last very much longer or something like that (which could very well happen).
Sean actually did a post smack-off show today for the Sean and John show on 1560. They talked about the smack-off and interviewed the 6 of the top ten guys. It was kind of interesting hearing these guys pull back the curtain and seeing they are normal guys and not just jobless trolls. The stories about Sean and Silk from Long Beach sounded like a lot of fun.
UN-BEE-LEEVABLE! Hi-Larious! lol.. I've noticed that he hasn't said any of these in a while... as a matter of fact, today was the first time in about a month he says "in----credible", and it seemed like he was doing it in a mocking way.. I guess Rome isn't that bad after all..
