if somebody quotes Jim Rome or makes a reference to his show, I generally try to avoid that person from then on.
I like Rome purely for his show's entertainment value. You can't take what he says too seriously. I've been listening to him since '99 and he's gotten a bit obnoxious but he still cracks me up. IMO, the e-mailers are the best part of the show. If anyone should hate him, it would be me b/c of the way he cracks on soccer. It gets irritating but he ridiculously overexaggerates to the point you can't help but laugh. His Beckham take for instance, where he admitted that he couldn't help his daughter Brooklyn with her homework b/c they didn't teach the same maths in his time. The thing that has really irritated me to no end is his recent decision between leaving his radio show for fulltime tv or even going to satellite radio. It gets very old b/c he is just trying to stroke his ego by getting responses from people who want him to stay on the radio. In the end we all know he would never give up the radio gig b/c it is what made and continues to make him. His TV show is crap.
I have a classic Phil Hendrie bit where he's goofing on Rome big time. Complete with all the sound effects, dramatic pauses, and dumb "callers". How do you post a Windows Media file?
You can upload it to youtube.com or putfile.com but I think you have to register. Otherwise, there's always yousendit.com but that's not streaming. And it needs to get re-upped.
