Is this really that surprising? Ainge traded away most of the team that got them to the Eastern conference finals a couple of years ago.

So all Eastern conference playoff coaches from last year are officially gone?

Can someone please explain Ainge's plan to me? His vision?

DA needs to blow that team up, and Pierce needs to be their Starbury (gee, I'd accept him here). PP and TMac look like the two saddest sack superstars anywhere (along with SF).

Problem is I don't believe he has a clue how to blow it up so it can come back together more vibrant, stronger.

Ainge might as well coach the Celtics.

Actuallly I kind like the Walker trade made by Ainge, Walker is a ball hog and shoot out of control last year. His damage is larger than his contribution if they want to make sure Paul P is their franchise.

However, the second trade, Eric Williams and Tony Battie trade, hurt them badly IMO. They lost two very good big men (Eastern conf standard) and role players. These two players hustle, provide hard-nose defense and interior presence. They stayed in Boston long enough to know the system and they don't need ball in their hands to be effective. Traded them in the middle of season for a player like R. Davis is an insane and a blunder for Ainge.

O'Brien simply didn't have time to melt the team together, in fact, after the trade he said it was like training camp all over again because all the sadden there were so many new faces in the team and he just couldn't teach so many things in such a short time.

So just like JVG with the Knicks, when GM traded away your familiar players one by one, the team starts sinking and you feel you can't turn things around, perhaps the only way to solve it is to get away as fast as possible and quit.

I hate Danny Ainge too. Thank you, Jim O'Brien.

Wow, could it also be an influence of players w/ these coaches faltering? This is really pathetic. It's just like that show Playmakers. The owner siding w/ the players and making the coach be the puppet of the players. It's just sad.

O'brien will get picked up soon. Maybe by the Nets, Suns, or Magic.

Coach changing is usually more about the problems of the players than problems of the coach.

the eastern conference is a mess. The problem isn't the coaches either. They have nothing but guards over there. I hope the draft starts paying off for them sometime soon because it's bad for basketball to have the eastern conference in such a pathetic state. There is no reason to watch basketball after the Western Conference Finals.
