Just heard it on the radio... Jim Jackson, Larry Robinson, and Anthony Johnson to Cleveland for Brevin Knight I don't think the Rox had much interest in J Jax, but I thought I would throw it out there. ------------------ - Beck Dream...bring back the goggles
Exceptional trade for the Hawks. Brevin Knight is in the first year of a 4-year $20 million dollar contract. When Knight has started, he has done very well and would have been starting for Cleveland if not for Miller. He has a relatively inexpensive contract for a more-than-capable starting PG. With Jason Terry playing SG lately, Brevin Knight is a welcome addition and Atlanta will now have one of the quickest backcourts in the NBA. Plus, Knight assist-to-turnover ratio is very good. Not to mention, they were able to lay waste to Larry Robinson and Anthony Johnson, who they had no interest in keeping. Cleveland did pretty well in this trade also. It is obvious that the Cavs have been shopping Wesley Person around the league, but he must not be receiving any attention. Jim Jackson is a nice SG who thrives in an isolation-oriented offense. That is not to say that he can't play in other offenses. He has a nice shooting touch and his penetration skills are top-notch. Langdon will serve as the backup with Harpring subbing for SG and SF. With all sides considered, this trade filled both teams' needs admirably. ------------------
A good trade for both teams for the reasons already mentioned. Another plus for the Cavs is that JJ's contract ends this season. In some respects, the Cavs are "auditioning" Jackson somewhat like the Rockets are Mo T. ------------------ GATER
Good trade. Knight is a good PG, unfortunately just not as good as Miller. He'll be able to play to his potential again in Atlanta. ------------------ RealGM Rockets Draft Obligations Summary http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
Yeah you cant have Knight and Miller , good trade for Cavs ------------------ "Its a good thing they don't make posters of European players" -Walt Williams after getting "posterized" by Zan Tabak .
Cleveland got robbed. Jackson is injury-prone and nothing special as a SG. Knight is at least a solid PG who plays pretty good defense. And this frees things up for Terry play the 2 full time. ------------------ "Thirty-seven?" -Randall, Clerks www.clutchtown.com
Jim Jackson tonight - 7pts, 6 TO's in 34 minutes. Meanwhile Chris Mihm had 18pts and 15 rebounds(8 off). Lokks like he's making the most of his opportunity to start. ------------------
I must disagree strongly with the sentiment here. Cleveland stole a decent player. Jackson will help them this season and they'll get salary relief (not as good as cap room, but they'll save some dough) after this season. Knight's not in the greatest health. Even assuming he comes back healthy, Atlanta now has the smallest starting PG and SG in the NBA (or something close to it). That is not a good combination. They're asking to be dominated every single game in the post. Expect huge foul problems for Terry and Knight. They are not a good combo. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Hobbs (edited January 03, 2001).]
