I absolutely love the way the guy plays.

He's been holding back on us. The dude still gotz it. That wasn't right...him taking it to the Turk like that. No mercy, gotta love it.

I was most impressed with Braggs. he is my hero. I kept thinking "please be our Thorpe" all game. Dude has very strong hands and can dribble to the cup. Bangs people around and has Mings back. I also was wondering if he might be better fit than Mo Taylor and wondering how Mo must feel right now. But JJ was great to. When Pike comes back watch out. I noticed Moochie played alot last night and so did steve and Mobley played sf. When Pike comes back we will see cat/steve play less minutes to conserve for the season, and Moochie less minutes also.

Yes he played well but I like it better when Boki and him are on the court together. The ball just moves around alot more. With Mobley they just start dribbling. I know the Mobley fans will disagree and let be clear I am not criticizing mobleys skills only he doesn't think pass first he thinks shoot first. And when he gets the ball instead of looking for the open man he looks to see how he can break down the offense. Then if he fails he looks for the open man.

Maybe it's because he hasn't played much in the preseason and he will improve. But even when he is open he seems to be unsure if this is a good time to shoot or not (although truthfully he thinks everytime is a good time to shoot). Under Van Gundy's passing offense he seems to stagnate the flow. He is a talent and can make things happen on his own I just don't think that's what the Rockets need from their starting 2.

It annoys the hell out of me when the Rockets run the court a few times and Yao doesn't get the ball and mostly when that happens it's because of Francis and Mobley's selfish play. So I would rather see Jackson at the 2 and Boki at the 3. The team plays better that way and then Mobley could come off the bench and be this awesome 6th man. I hope that's what happens and I hope it happens soon.

Jim Jackson is a great fit for this team and the system that Van Gundy has implemented.

We've been making these impressive strides without, E. Griffin, A. Griffin, Piatkowski, and MoTay.

Unbelievable. The depth we could have is pretty solid.

    I agree. Good addition.

Previous games...he didn't do too well..but he's been getting better. He goes on fire like Mo Taylor. He plays defense..he hustles..he's tough.

I like Jackson and Nachbar together as well. But Jackson needs to make open shots consistently...

I like Mobley as a 6th man when Yao is out of the game..

Our team is very deep. We have plenty of options. When someone isn't playing well, we have numerous guys to replace him.

I knew JJax could play but I too was a little worried about his shot not falling. Then I went back and looked at how he started last season with the Kings. He joined them around game 18 or so and it took him at least 6 regular season games with the Kings to get it going. He's going to be a solid addition.

I only saw the first quarter and a half of the game, but what I saw of Jackson worried me. He still seemed to be more one-on-one instead of looking for an open man (especially when Yao was setting up on the low block).

Now, I didn't see the whole game and wasn't paying full attention the whole time, so did anybody else notice that?

Yes who too looks for his shot a little too much instead of giving it up to Yao but nowhere near as bad as Cat or Francis. Boki is the only one who considtently plays within the offense he is always looking for the open man and if he is in on the side of Yao and Yao has acquired deep position Boki will find a way to get him to him. It is this reason I want boki in the starting line up. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up for in hustle and smart play. He knows his role and the team goal to move ball around and try to work it through Yao as much as possible. Jackson is second in understanding this and after that no one gets it. The same people who didn't get it last year don't get it this year.

If Van Gundy to get Francis and Mobley to move the ball through Yao than the Rockets will be force and will give Van Gundy his props.

Unlike a player like Piatkowski, the great thing about JJ is that if his shot isnt falling, he has much more in his aresenal. He can hit on the run, drive to the hole and post up... the only thing one would have to watch is that if he handles the ball too much he tends to turnover the rock a lot.

I think you are being a bit harsh on Piatowski, though I have to say I have never critically watched his game.

But from what I have heard, he is a good passer to the key (Rockets brass)and runs both sides of the fast break(himself).

I am basing this on nothing, but I bet he is a decent rotation defender. Just a guess, but I bet he does his homework and knows where to be.

Wasn't trying to knock Pike, I like him as a player, but you have to admit, he is known around the league for mainly one thing. And many a time he scores inside the arc, its derived from being such a good shooter in the first place. I used him to emphasize JJ's multi-skilled offense and for nothing else.

I think we figured out the solution to the problem! When Yao is playing Mobley is on the bench and when Yao is resting then Mobley can play if Van Gundy so choose to.

Here is another solution: Never play Moochie. Or, until he stops making rookie mistakes.

You may like JJ but it won't be long before the players figure out who JJ really is. Yeah folks, JJ is the model for Leon in the Bud commercials. Why do you think a player of his quality keeps going from team to team.
I am not trying to downplay his game only his attitude on and off the court. He acts like Mr corporate, or JJ Inc. While presenting an I'm all about the team attitude to the media. Players can smell that. He has not changed since his days with the Mavs, where he single handedly blew up the big three of Kidd, Jackson, Mashburn. All the time he was claiming to be a team guy. Remember Leon "Ain't no I in team" and Leon says "there ain't no We in team either".

Did you watch ESPN2 tonight's NBA classic--1996 Mav & Jazz. Jim got 27 at the end of 3rd Q. He is unstoppable in that game. Man, that's 1996. Hope he still can be that good.

you mean like how Steve Francis has a clothing line and a recording company. And how Mobley has a publicist. And how Yao has Team Yao.

JJ did more one on one because he was defended by a former teammate (i forgot his name). It was more of a duel between old friends for bragging rights.
