Who is this guy? I've never heard of him. Superficially stat-wise, he seems to show promise. Before you get all excited, no I'm not saying he's the answer to our problems at center, that we need to give him a $42 million contract, and yes, I'm very mindful of all the big men who's gotten contracts above their worth recently after having nice years but proven little.

Still, I am curious about his game, and it doesn't hurt to keep an eye on other team's potentials at centers, especially since we don't have anyone to deal with guys that height right now. Any thoughts on James?

I've seen him play a lot this year, and he's a very active C/PF. You can say the same for their other backup big man, Art Long.

bill and calvin gush over any player that makes a hookshot in this league...they got all giddy over james because he did not play much at Alabama A&M and went to the Globetrotters first versus after playing in the NBA like most. This kid apparently lost 100 pounds to get to the show. He does have great size and can run the court too. Watch for him to develop over the next 2 years into a decent center.

James was very impressive. 7-1, 300 lbs, very active and athletic. Boy, that's the kind of player that would let people forget we have a big hole in the middle. He can do everything Cato can and have great hands from what I saw. No wonder they let McCoy go.

Had it not been for an injured player....James wasn't going to get the chance. Letting McCoy go had nothing to do with it. James is going to be a solid role player who has a body to defend against Shaq but not the foot speed.

James is like a poor mans ewing, there builds and moves are very similar, james just isnt as good. The only prob with James is that he picks up stupid fouls all the time. I bet he would average 10 more minutes a game if he didnt foul so much.

James is also a Free Agent this summer.

Given that Seattle signed Booth to a long term contract last summer and they have Predab Drobnjak (sp???) under contract for the next couple of years, they may not be able to re-sign him.

If we can't get a quality 5 in the draft, James may be worth 1/2 of our MCE.
