Lol. I've always thought he was a good official. I do think the team missed quite a few calls last night. They missed the tripping call on the Texans, and they blew the horse collar tackle call (which both could have changed the outcome of the game...for better or worse). I also thought, as a passionate Texans fan, they should have called a few unsportsmanlikes on the Titans for hands to the face after the play. That being said, I thought they called a decent game.
Nope. We lost this game because Kris Brown has forgotten how to kick and because Steve Slaton can't catch a football that's at his numbers.
I thought they called a fairly one sided game. How are there no unsportsmanlike penalties on the t***? That blown horse collar call was the difference between 3rd and long on their own 6 and 1st and 10 on their 21. I can't count how many times Mario had his man beat, only to get held as he tried to turn the corner, yet there was not one holding call on the t***. I'm not blaming the loss on the refs at all. But facts are facts. The calls went the t*** way. The only exception was the missed tripping call.
Yeah, I'm never one to blame a loss on the refs, but there were SEVERAL times when Schaub was driven hard into the turf after a throw and no late hits were called. Then that call on Cushing for pushing Vince out of bounds? Are you kidding me?? And yes, it seems like we were getting held on every play.
I would get mad over that high five but the Cobra Kai leg sweep not getting called on a huge 3rd kinda even things out for me. Sure a couple of crappy calls but nothing out of the ordinary in my book...The Horsecollar call was horrible but again so was the leg sweep.
another one was the cushing " unnecessary roughness" call on VY. Trust me if cushing wanted to get a cheap shot on vince, he would have done so. Just a weak call. At the same time, I saw finnegan dragging david anderson's legs after the play was over, that should have been unsporstman like conduct. In games like these, every yard counts.
I see players talk and chit chat with refs all the time, but... "HIGH FIVE" a'la Borat style... WTF? You can almost read "We did it together, Jerome! Thanks!" on Young's lips.
Brett Favre gave a high five to a ref after a td pass a couple of years ago. I've seen Romo do this also.
I suppose it would REALLY upset you to hear about the Ref who asked Tom Brady for his autograph after a Patriot's game...
I also saw some of the hard hits Schaub was taking, but they were all clean tackles. Not too high or low. Any pushing or tackling after someone is out of bounds is automatic, they even call late hits/unnecessary roughness if a player is half a step on there way out of bounds. So to be pushed when he is clearly out, that flag has to be thrown everytime.
Heard the NFL response on this was that the ref was making a signal on the field...hand up means play is over.....and VY walked up and hit his hand. That's complete BS by the NFL!!!!!!!!
