    o'neal and bosh?

indiana are helpless. even though the nba really don't need another memphis grizzles or sonics they have to head that way. firesale. i can see them trading dunleavy for an expiring contract.

O'Neal isn't that great, but if healthy, that trade could propel Toronto near the top of the east. Assuming Calderon is back.

makes more sense than that ford for diaw rumor.

how does that make sense for either team?

this actually makes the pacers a bit better as well. they could become a pretty fast paced team.

jermaine can still be very productive. especially defensively. he doesnt have to be an allstar to make toronto a contender.

Kapono and Rasho "supposedly" are in the deal too. So it would be Kapono, Ford, Rasho, #17 for O' Neal.

With no pick it's a 'maybe' value IMHO; and I am a long-time strong believer that in a multiple-for-one deal the team getting the one trumps (or is that chumps?!!) the team getting the multiple. This makes no sense to me.

Oh - do the Pacers have four open roster spots?

This sounds like a trade just to make a trade, doesn't make sense for either team, especially Toronto IMO.

Toronto just wants to make Calderon the starter. That makes sense. The Pacers probably just want to get rid of O'neal, which makes some sense.

    Calderon
    Parker
    Moon
    Bosh
    O'Neal

is a solid starting 5, and they could either deal bargnani, or use him as a 6th man(if he could play SF he could start over moon, but i'm not sure he's quick enough...

    Indiana:

    Ford
    Dunleavy
    Granger
    Murphy
    Nesterovic

or they could go small with:

    ford
    dunleavy
    kapono
    granger
    murphy

not a bad idea for either team...

He could be as good as Moses Malone. However, if he is injured as much as Moses, it doesn't do the Raptors any good if he gets injured after 60 games and misses the last 20+ games and the playoffs.

The Moses Malone that played for Houston, Philly, Atlanta and other teams?
He had some injuries over the years, but I thought he was definitely more durable than Jermaine could ever hope to be.

As far as how good Jermaine could be, Moses was playing at a high level in his youth while Jermaine was still developing at the same age.

Without the pick it seems fair...I don't know why Toronto would trade their 17th as well.

In fact - Ford, Rasho and 2nd for O'Neal seems like a fair deal to me. Why trade the best 3 point shooter in the league when you're a team that relies on treys to win?

I agree with DVauthrin, this trade makes sense. Bosh and O'Neal can definitely co-exist on the floor, Bosh doesn't have to start from the paint to play his game. And the Pacers have learned to play without O'Neal, and they aren't high on Tinsley - Ford will provide them with the starter they are searching for. Granted, Ford has injury concerns, but O'Neal does as well so it's a justified risk to take him on.

i think you guys are underestimating o'neal here...

tj ford is just a quick pg.
    rasho isn't good...
    kapano is just a shooter.

o'neal was an allstar, right now because of his injuries, he's still a borderline all-star.

unless i'm underestimating granger alot, i just dont see how they can do that. no scorer at all.

Exactly the way I feel. Some folks act like Jermaine is an all-star when he is just a good player that's injured all the time. I knew somebody would come back me up. :D
