this saturday on REGULAR HBO (not ppv). unbelivable how this isnt a ppv fight. it should be a good one. i got winky by decision. he's a southpaw and he's taken out better fighters. the only person JT has fought is bhop (i thought taylor lost the first fight) and william joppy....

i'm gonna be in houston this weekend for a wedding, so if some of you guys are meeting up to watch it, that'd be cool.

I'm in Arkansas, so I'm definitely rooting for JT on this one. The crowd support he will have, considering the fight is right across the border in Arkansas, will be amazing. When he fought B-Hop in Vegas the first time, over 8,000 fans traveled to the fight...Now he's fighting less than 2.5 hrs from his hometown of Little Rock, AR? The crowd will be crazy.

This fight could be so freaking good... [crosses fingers]

This would have been a huge ppv draw by the way.

I might just be having a few friends over to the party palace for the fight, and don't forget the replay of Hopkins/Tarver from last week precedes the Taylor/Wright fight.

The Taylor/Wright fight, I hope and pray, is going to be exciting. I am very happy it is not PPV. It is also to me a very hard fight to predict. Taylor is young and strong as hell. Wright is crafty and a great counterpuncher. I just don't know who is going to win it.

I think Taylor wins it, but to be honest I've seem him fight more than Winky so that might skew my opinion. This should be a great fight, hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

yeah its hard to say. i saw taylor vs hopkins twice and once against joppy. ive seen winky dominate trinidad and for some reason that fight has been burned into my head. thats why i say winky takes this fight

I'm not sure if it will be Hagler-Hearns cause once again we've got a defensive fighter vs. a guy who doesn't like to take tons of chances.

Teddy Atlas was talking last night and said youth of Taylor would win out over the skills of Wright, which is possible. I guess I woudl put money on Taylor, but I don't know, it is a tough one to call.

Taylor's jab may be longer and stronger but Winky's might be quicker and ultimately better, so it will be interesting to see who wins that area.

A lot of hardcore boxing fans on other forums I read tend to underestimate Taylor. I don't really understand it. THere are many who swear that Hopkins beat him twice and claim that HBO bias is the only reason why , which again I don't understand. I only saw the first match-up and i don't see how you claim Hopkins won it, he went to sleep and didn't do anything for the whole first half of the fight, and didn't do anything particularly special towards the end. either. The second one I missed but it was apparently even more in Taylor's favor, so I don't really get it.

This could be the best fight of the middleweight class since Hagler-Leonard. I'm glad I'll be in attendance. Only 2 more days!

The longer this fight goes the better for Winky. The way I see it it's either a Taylor Knockout or a Wright Decision.

Hagler - Leonard eh??That's one of the greatest fights of all time and it would take a lot to put this in the same stratosphere. You never know though.Styles make fights....and I think this is the weight class where both are best.I envy you being at this fight.
I have to say I really admire Winky and his patience with regard to his career, but I think history will eventually regard Taylor as the best of the two.
This fight already has at least one rematch stamped all over it.

I agree. Taylor, to me, hasn't really been tested yet. Wright is unorthodox and counterpunches very well. This has the makings of a great fight.

He beat Hopkins twice, but Hopkins was not at his best in either fight, although he put up a strong showing in the latter half of the first fight.

    Isn't Wright a southpaw?

yeah wright is a southpaw...in the first hopkins fight, i think taylor actually lost the fight. hopkins was the smarter fighter, but taylor was the more active fighter. if i remember correctly, taylor had a slightly swolen eye after the fight and took some huge shots in the late rounds. hopkins landed more punches (same with the second fight)

No wonder many are picking Winky Wright to win.

I think this might turn out to be a great fight, especially if it goes the distance.
