From what I saw last night, Jeriome Robertson very closely resembles Andy Pettitte. Both are left-handed. Both have great off-speed stuff. Neither throw real hard and they both make a living off their smarts/mechanics. I was really impressed by Robertson last night. He was obviously nervous in his first start of the season against the Rockies and that is understandable. I believe we are going to see great things from Jeriome this season. Don't rule out him being in the running for ROY this season. Anybody agree?
His delivery reminds me of Orlando Hernandez. At the Rockies game, he kinda impressed me...All but the one inning where he gave up 7 or 8 runs. I think he is gonna be another one of our countless great pitching prospects.
He also resembles Pettite in that he has that great pick off move if he wants too, since he lifts that leg so high, and he has such great balance. Plus, the guy looks to be pretty athletic. When he hit that one grounder that was slightly misplayed and gave him a shot at getting on base, he was HUSTLING down that line...even faster than some of our position players run on ground balls. You gotta love guys like that.
I thought you meant looks like so I was going to call you a name. But while I'm at it I mine as well agree. I like the way he pitches and he looks as if he might get a few hits in the big leagues as well. Hampton Jr.
