Apparently Ken Jennings was on Jeopardy today (09/06). Anyone know how he did?

Sorry, not me. But as long as we're on the subject, how'd you get "vamos los astros" as your member status and where can i get one of those? :)

You have to earn those titles like "vamos los astros." It's basically up to the admins. You can't ask for them, they just give them out when they feel like it.

    *********SPOILERS************

Maybe, I don't know, but I think I've seen one of these guys on today facing Ken on a Sunday night episode of Jeopardy they show in Houston. I think this is the day Ken goes down.

That would be quite a feat, considering the Sunday reruns are years old, and they don't allow return visits...

My bad. I could have sworn I saw that guy. I didn't know the rules behind Sunday Jeopardy.

he won again tonight (9/07) and is now at 1,353,461 and gone through 40 days. he had some pretty good competition today though, and was slightly down heading into double jeopardy and towards the end too it was close, but then ken cleaned out the last two subjects (w/ daily double) and put the game out of reach.

    Jennings continues wins on 'Jeopardy!'

Ken Jennings of Salt Lake City won his 40th consecutive game on Jeopardy! Tuesday. His 41st game will be at 3:30 p.m. today on CBS/Channel 11.

    'JEOPARDY!' NUMBERS
Canadian statistician Andy Saunders is keeping track of Jennings' numbers:

    Games played: 40

    Total winnings: $1,353,461

Correct responses: 1,431 (including Final Jeopardy)

Responses attempted: 1561 (including Final Jeopardy)

Percentage of correct responses: 91.67 percent (including Final Jeopardy)

    Daily Doubles hit: 84

    Daily Doubles correct: 72

Daily Double correct answer percentage: 85.71 percent

    Average Daily Double wager: $3,613

Total net gain on Daily Doubles: $217,499

Average net gain on Daily Doubles: $2,589 (per Daily Double)

Average score at end of 'Jeopardy!': $9,775

Average lead at end of 'Jeopardy!': $6,078

Average score at end of 'Double Jeopardy!': $30,977

Average lead at end of 'Double Jeopardy!': $22,457

Percentage of games "locked up" after 'Double Jeopardy!': 87.5 percent

    'Final Jeopardy!' correct responses: 26

    'Final Jeopardy!' response attempts: 40

'Final Jeopardy!' correct answer percentage: 65.0 percent

    Average 'Final Jeopardy!' wager: $8,106

    High game: $75,000 (July 23)

    Low game: $10,001 (Sept. 6)

    Average winnings: $33,837

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So there is a 12.5% chance he won't have the victory locked up by final Jeopardy and a 35% chance he will miss the final Jeopardy question. Therefore by my mathematical skills :) there is about a 4% chance of him losing. Actually even less than that because you have to assume the other contestant will get the final Jeopardy question right.

    *POTENTIAL SPOILER*

Countdown with Keith Olberman on MSNBC is saying that a TV Game Show magazine (I didn't catch name, I was writing a paper) is reporting that Jennings lost today in his 75th episode.

This is jsut pathetic. Seems to me Jeopardy is in dire strait to raking up their rating by setting this whole thing up. I'm pretty sure this show suddenly been rigged.

Sure it's rigged, because who wouldn't want to go to federal prison just to get the ratings up?

Rigging a game show is a federal crime.

Unless they repealed the law at some point. After the quiz show scandals in the 1950s, the Congress made rigging a game show a federal crime.

It's either rigged but who's gonna know? Maybe it's just between the producer and the guy or whoever is working there is giving him the answer. I only watch a couple of shows but is it true he always tilt his head to one side before answering? A different kind of rigging would be to bring in idiots to compete against him. Could he be a genius? Maybe but something aint right.
