My good sense tells me there was a good reason it was closed and to leave it at that.

Charlie says it will be in the 4 o'clock hour now - conflict in JVG's schedule.

JVG is probably busy making a trade for the number 1,2 and 3 picks. Nothing to worry about.

We have a top 10 pick and the best we can get right now is "hopefully" a rotational player. Not a very good draft this year.

Great interview. Forgot most of what he said. Emphasized the need for size at the shooting guard and that they didn't necessarily need shooting but slashing.

    Unless he's bullsh*tting, they won't take Reddick.

    Luther's only 6'1? I thought he's 6'3.

    - Sounds like he's not overly impressed by the players available in the draft.
    - While all the sports radio personalities are going on and on about spot up shooting, he's putting more emphasis on size and abilitiy to create going to the basket.
    - Thinks backup PG is another big hole that needs to be filled.
    - A "homerun" pick would be a starter. At the least, he's expecting a "rotational player" (14-18 minutes a game). Doesn't think it's imperative that we draft a starter.
    - Thinks workouts are overrated. Interestingly, he seems to place more importance on getting accurate physical measurements to determine what are historical trends for players with similar measurements. Sounds like Daryl Morey might be having an influence here ...

Question: To what extent does JVG have input on this draft? It sounds like he'd pick Brewer or Carney, or maybe even Marcus Williams.

He keeps emphasizing size in the backcourt, slashing to the rim, etc?

Let's just draft Brewer at the #8, sign Mike James, and, if possible, snag that #10 from Seattle somehow.

In any case, Brewer and James will help a lot.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. JVG has always put an emphasis on the measureable physical attributes of his players, especially body fat percentages. I remember an article that detailed the change in how the Rockets took body fat measurements from Rudy to JVG. Rudy would do it one during training camp, and once at the allstar break or something, while JVG would take it every two weeks or so.

OK - Marcus Williams with #8 pick, Brewer with #10 pick (from Seatle) and sign Mike James!

JVG is on his way out, at least that is what it sounds like.
