That was interesting. My biggest concern about the whole data switch was that we would be given false information, which would be criminal. My first thoughts were this, but his analysis makes me much more concerned that this is actually happening. I don't trust the Trump Administration at all. This is the new conspiracy theory for sure.
Kinda looks like an Americanized version of Dirk lol Wait a god damn minute this thread is serious people, pay attention!
It's so expected to the point where it has relatively little shock factor, unbelievable state this country has fallen into under this administration.
Well said. Normally, we would give an administration the benefit of the doubt when it comes to improved data. However, this administration has gone so far as to blame the CDC and public health experts for the state of COVID-19. Also, they have refused to let public health experts speak, and, as Hester noted, in recent weeks, they took COVID-19 data collection and reporting out of the hands of the CDC and put in it the hands of the politicized HHS.
Do hospital reports data to state? Or do state get data from cdc and now hhs? if it’s the former and indeed there is “cooking”, the state would also have to work with hhs to “cook” the data if they want to keep it consistent between them if it’s the latter, then hhs cooking the data would also alter the state data automatically
Don’t exactly have the answer to question above but some good insights the data was already being reported to HHS. The change effective cut of CDC direct access so that now only HHS has the data. The change is also risky as it’s a new system and some hospitals have to scramble to comply —- that could explain some hiccup but you would think it’s more statistically uniform and not so divided between R and B https://www.statnews.com/2020/07/16/hospital-data-reporting-covid-19/
This said at least some states do not collect data themselves and relies on the CDC, which is now a problem since they no longer have data... https://www.npr.org/sections/health...-some-states-lose-access-to-covid-hospital-da
