I need to listen to that CD again. I was a little disappointed when I first listened to it. I guess I had high expectations.

You think that CD sounds good -- what was unbelievable was seeing him live.

I saw him play a club in DC the size of my living room, and it's one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen. His voice was even better live, which is truly amazing. You'd think a voice that good on the CD would have tons of studio effects on it, but no -- it was all real. I also noticed that none of the other band members were miked for backup vocals -- his voice was all you needed.

I also remember that the audience was full of beautiful women making eye contact with him wearing frozen "f--k me" smiles on their faces. I mean, really hot women. At least for DC.

The other thing I remember about that show was that I tried for weeks to find someone to go with, but nobody had heard of him or was willing to try it - and I probably asked a dozen people. I finally found someone to go with at the last minute.

I'm sure all of those people wish they'd gone now. What an amazing talent he was.

He was amazing. I've bought the CD 'Grace' more than any other album, just because I keep giving it away to people.

I saw him open for Juliana Hatfield back in 1995, an amazing show. Goose-bump city.

I went to the river where he drowned himself in Memphis a few weeks ago.
