I'm sure jazz fans in Houston listen to KTSU (90.9 FM) for jazz. It has good stuff including a few NPR shows like Ed Bradley's Live from Lincoln Center and Branford Marsalis' jazz show. But, if you haven't listened to Miles Willis' Milestones on KPFT (90.1 FM) Saturday nights, you are missing out. Willis has been doing this show for many years and he knows TONS about traditional jazz. All his stuff, of course, is in the vein of bop and traditional jazz. He comes on every Saturday from 6pm to 9pm CST (right after the COOL bluegrass show that runs from 3 to 6). You can listen live at http://www.kpft.org Also, if you like big band stuff, KBME in Houston (790 AM) broadcasts a syndicated show called Dance Party on Saturday Nights from 7 to midnight (central). It is a mix of live big band from the ballroom of the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan and recorded big band music. The only draw back is that Milestones and Dance Party come on at the same time. Well, you can get in 3 hours of Milestones and switch over to Dance Party for 3 hours. ------------------ Me fail English? That's unpossible.
