i found this funny.....i laughed out loud

In McGrady's case the Jazz have a player on their team who knows McGrady's moves better than anybody outside of his Houston teamates and Vince Carter, having been his teamate in Orlando and practicing against him everyday. That same player did not play in one game against Houston this year and in the game T-Mac scored 44 points he only played 11 minutes. He is slowly developing a reputation as a defensive stopper. His name is Gordan Giricek.

Boozer worries me. He's stronger than our PFs and too quick for our Cs. Chuck Hayes needs to devote his life to stopping Boozer once the playoffs start.

lets start scouting jazz right now. I'll try to find their game today against cavs. Cavs have an okay center in Illgauskis and a good guard in Lebron. Thats where the comparison ends though. We can see how they'll defend lebron and maybe that can give us a hint to how they'll defend t-mac.

as much as i hate to admit it, this is going to be a very difficult series to win. i don't think us rocket fans give the spazz enough credit.

For some reason Jazz fans and the media have Okur shooting 3's (since Yao wont leave the paint) as their saving grace. Are they serious? Okay so Ill give Okur 2 threes made per game. Thats six points. What the hell are they gonna do with Yao down low? But no, lets focus on Okur's 6 points... Jesus. Get your ass in the post and play like you have some balls.

Or the myth that AK can stop McGrady. Yes AK can defend. But Tracy isnt really phased. He is putting up 35ppg on him this season and the same last season! Keep in mind last season he had to leave a Utah game at halftime since his kid was being born which dropped his avg against AK to about 23ppg. The year before that he averaged 27ppg while shooting 50%. Same myth that Bruce Bowen can defend Tmac, it simply doesnt happen.

    But whatever.

Definitely going to be a tough series.

Kirilenko, their best defensive player (outside of apparently Giricek) can do nothing to stop McGrady. He has walked over them more than once. They aren't going to be able to guard Yao. That's how it's like for most teams.

    Our toughest matchup problems:

Deron Williams will make Rafer wear Victoria's Secret by the time this series is over. He can shot, is pretty quick, is pretty strong, and is pretty talented. He can handle the ball well.

Carlos Boozer will be the X-Factor of this series IMO. If he plays well, we can't stop him so their life will be all too easy on offense. Chuck is too small and weak and Howard is too slow. Boozer does have some range but it's only going to hurt if he's draining his outside shot that game. He's also not a bad rebounder.

Mehmet Okur worries me too. He can take it to the hoop, but he has the ability to knock down the 3 ball. He's also clutch.

That's how I take it. McGrady will be important, but I think Yao might be the key in this one. If we can really take advantage off the Jazz's frontline with him, we might be in good shape. If we can't McGrady will get hounded and that's not good.

EDIT: They voted for seeing the Lakers in the playoffs instead of us...most of those fans aren't delusional. There's a few on there who said they will steamroll us but most said they won't have an easy time playing us and one of them even said they are more scared of Van Gundy than Phil Jackson...lol.

Heh they think THEY'LL be hosed by the refs...isn't that what we think?

Here's my 'scouting report' of the Utah Jazz: they're mentally weak and largely inexperienced.

Of course, the Rockets aren't much better in that aspect, but I think come playoff time that mental 'edge' the Rockets have with their chiseled veterans will be a major factor in the series.

Of course, the Jazz are more talented/have more depth across the board, but they lack the superstar combo we have.

easy one to take over the Jazzhole IMO. 4-1

If Okur park his azz outside, heavenly good news to us. That means Yao dont have to guard him, put a smaller guy to bother him, that will be enough. I dont believe his that fade away trey will fall in a 7 game series.

Some hilarious posts in the Jazz fansite. They sure do post a lot of smack for a team with a 4 game losing streak. I think that Deron Williams though, is a huge talent and may one day be even better than Stockton. I wish the Rox could get a PG like that! Shouldn't this thread be in the GARM?

"Nevermind the Rockets. Right now the Jazz would lose a 7 game series to the Comets."
