    Let the frenzy begin.

"This is a state of emergency," Jay-Z slowly warns over the blaring intro of "Show Me," the first track from his highly anticipated comeback album, Kingdom Come, which, on Friday afternoon (October 6), leaked

"What do you want me to do? I'm sorry. I'm back," he added with a laugh.

With that, the Def Jam president launches into the Just Blaze-produced number, officially ending his three-year "retirement."

While Jay-Z has always left open the possibility of coming out of retirement, referencing Michael Jordan's comeback and donning the number 45 à la his Airness, Jay seems to have no intentions of basking in the twilight of his rap career. He maintains that he's as fresh as ever — as fresh as Jordan in his prime or LeBron James in his.

"Shots of Patrón/ Now she in the zone/ I ain't talking about the two-three/ Mami in the zone like the homie 23/ Jordan or James/ Makes no difference/ We all ballin' the same."

And if anyone thought Beyoncé would dim Hov's playboy outlook, think again. "Show Me" is armed with a number of Jay-Z's trademark one-liners directed at the ladies. Fellas, take note.

"I got a drop/ I just took off the top/ It's your turn," he quips.

The track, featuring a Lafayette Afro Rock Band sample most notably used in Wreckx-N-Effect's "Rump Shaker," is more musical than most Jay-Z lead singles. Just Blaze mixes stabbing horns with high-hat cymbals and pacing piano notes. The result is a high-energy, big-band production to match Jay-Z's grand return.

Jay-Z's comeback was one of the worst-kept secrets in recent entertainment history; producers Kanye West and Pharrell, rapper Young Jeezy and director Hype Williams all spilled the beans on their participation on the project. Def Jam hasn't set an official date for the release of the track or accompanying video.

You want a good rap album? Snatch a copy of Lupe Fiasco's and get educated...

I really don't understand the hate for this single. Jay doesn't come too hard, but the beat is beyond rediculous. Just Blaze does it again and people still can't se past their Hov hate-tinted sunglasses.

Somehow I knew he'd be back. He never really left the rap business with all his collaborations and cameos with other artists. As for the song, he's done better but I guess this one's a'ight. Welcome back Jay.

OK, maybe I missed it but when does the new CD come out?

Jay-Z is by far my favorite artist.

I think the song isn't bad. Jay-Z can do better, and I hope to see that on his album and future singles.

Album being released November 21, 2006.

A rapper retiring is as credable as a boxer doing so.

I like Jay alot but his rhymes are becoming recycled. Listen to his lyrics closely and every single song has this in it:

    1. A sports reference where he compares himself to a great athlete
    2. Spelling out his name and rhyming it with something (we know your name is J AY-Z by now
    3. A boast about being the greatest of all time (mostly living rapper of all time)

Don't get me wrong, I live Jay's music alot, but the way rap critics and fans paint him out to be a lyrical genius who continuously re-invents himself is completely false. He, like most rappers, and musicians for that matter, recycles material over and over.

That being said, I'll probably get the album.

Big whoop...everybody knows that the REAL money in rap music is made after you die, not after a fake retirement.

I wrote this song a long time ago
    A real long time ago

I never thought Jay would really retire. Most artists sooner or later get that itch to start writing and performing again.
