Reading the Bulls rumor thread in GARM, it got me thinking about their overload at PG with Hinrich, Gordon, Pargo, and Frank Williams. And what if Jay Williams comes back and plays. He is a good player. Xiki seems to think Hinrich is on the block, but I don't know.
But I would like to see Jay Williams come back and maybe end up with the rockets. I was wondering if anyone knew the status of Jay. I haven't heard anything about him in a while and was wondering if anyone knew if he was going to return to the NBA. If Williams is back I would imagine it would give the rockets more options at PG through a trade with the Bulls. So anyone who knows anything about Jay Williams currently please reply.

I though the Bulls bought out JWill's contract, so a trade wouldn't be necessary.

But from what I've heard, Jayson Williams probably has a better chance of making a comeback than Jay.

The last thing I heard was that he was working out at Duke but is AT LEAST a year away from even thinking about the NBA.

Thanks for the replies. I wasn't sure what was going on with him.

He is an unrestricted FA. I would sign him to the vet minimum and place him on IR until he is ready...if he is ready.

I don't think you can sign a player to the veteran's minimum when he's not a veteran... ;)

The "1 year away" story was a WHILE back..

However, last I remember reading abotu him, he was still limping..

Maybe midseason or something... If he was ready, there would be news.
