Shawn, me lad, you are too in love with "potential." Jay Williams will be lucky to walk without a noticeable limp let alone play at the NBA level.

Methinks the Bulls would trade him for one of our waterboys just to get out from under a contract that holds no future. Sadly, it looks like the same is true for DerMarr Johnson, formerly of Atlanta.

I read a Chicago Sun Time article about Jay Williams a few weeks ago. It mentioned that Williams was still in a wheel chair and might require more surgeries to his knee. It also suggested that the bulls might seek to void Jay's contract after this season because he violated a clause in the contract of not riding motor cycles (dangerous endeavors clause?). It's most likely that he'll never be back in the NBA again. I feel bad about the guy. It looks like his career ended before it even really started.

It truly is a shame. I never thought he was an amazing player(Like Dick V. made him out to be), but it is terrible for a young guy's career to be cut that short.

If I were Les, I would. Without an extension, J.Will's contract will be up after next season (a la Eddie Griffin).

The name Jason Williams is cursed. There are just too many JWills in NBA. Therefore God helps confused fans by getting rid of two of them. :p

What always struck me was how much better he was going right, than left. I think he would have been what Dickie V thought if he could have. The kid was explosive going right. Faster than Francis, Marbury... maybe even Iverson. But ask him to go left, and he was ordinary.
