That is all. Sorry, the blurb on ESPN's Insider was almost as brief. After two days in Chicago, he'll be in Houston on June 18. Pretty good timing, too. About a week before the draft. Turn up the pressure on other teams.
Cool, I hope they draft him, I personaly think he will be better than Francis. He is the best player in the draft and it would be stupid to pass on him. Duncan is a free-agent next year right? We should give him the max, not Francis. C-Duncan PF-Taylor SF-Griffin SG-Mobley PG-Williams That is a much better team.
The Rox should send out strong signals that they are interested in Williams after the workout...this way teams who covet him won't settle for trading up to #2 to get him...boy its nice to control the draft!
Duncan is a free-agent next year right? We should give him the max, not Francis. Where do you propose we get the $11M that it would take to sign Duncan?
Trade Rice and #15 pick to the Clippers for the #12. Move us up 3 places and drops Rices bis fat contract.
Trade Rice and #15 pick to the Clippers for the #12. Move us up 3 places and drops Rices bis fat contract. And why exactly do the Clippers want Rice's big fat contract?
Becouse they are one step anyway form being a realy good team. With Rice they could make the playoffs easy, that is if he stays healthy.
"They have to work/check him out before they send Francis to Chicago for him." I did not think of that, but I would stend Francis to the Bulls for the #2 and Tyson Chandler or Jamel Crawford. I Would also send Mobley and KT for the #3 if Golden State would do it. Just think the Rockets would have the top 3 picks!
Williams and Francis will be a better version of Baron and Wesley. Too bad they have no intention of keeping Jay Will.
I wish the Rockets would get J Williams. If of course stevie is cool with that. The best passing team in the Modern area (in my opinion) was the 86 Celts., and they had no true point guard. Both Danny and Dennis shared the duty. I think a backcourt of williams and Steve, with mobes coming off the bench would create soo many matchup problems for the other team. We would be small, but the quickness and passing would make up for it.
Because Rice is so great and can get his shot off...and he has had such a great past...and the most important reason...all the other intangibles even when sitting on the bench...
Well if Steve is cool with that it would mean Cat is expendable. So why not trade Cat, KT and the 15 to Memphis for #4 and pick Dunleavy. Of course that is if GS passes on him at #3. That would still leave us with a weak frontcourt but that would be a great passing team. I'm just ranting don’t get your panties in a wad baskbl freak.
You aren't insinuating that the Clippers could be a really good team if they could just get their hands on Rice are you?
"You aren't insinuating that the Clippers could be a really good team if they could just get their hands on Rice are you?" Yes I was, if Rice can stay healthy and hits his shot.
Dennis Johnson was the pg and was a hell of a defender, plus it didn't hurt that their small forward avg 6 asst either. The Francis Williams backcourt would be fine in the east, but there are too many good big guys over here. Teams would play us no different with Williams as they did with Mobley. A soft zone because our big guys aren't that good. Bibby and Jackson play well together for stretches, but they also have Webber and Divac who are better than anything we have. The Kings also go some guy named Peja who has missed 2 or 3 weeks of playoff basketball. It just makes no sense.
Ok then keep Kt and the 15 and make them throw in a player. Personally I don’t think as highly of Cat as most people here. He has a great first step and a very good shot. However he still hasn't figured out how to get separation to get of a clean shot. It seems like every jump shot he shoots there is a player in his face. Not to mention he never passes the ball. I’m not saying he sucks or that we should really trade him. He is still young and improving.
If Rice makes the Clippers a playoff team, then he must make the Rockets a Championship team. Now, surely you'd like to keep a player who can put you over the top, wouldn't you?
