I personally do not believe he is a game changer for the rockets, but he surely could add some length and athleticism to our front court. Might be a slight upgrade from Jordan Hill. Please share thoughts and trade ideas.
Meh, I'd rather just give Jordan Hill the chance to prove himself. Plus, I'm not sure why they would want Jermaine Taylor when they already have Tyreke Evans and Francisco Garcia.
Even tho they are our best buds as far as trade partners go they would probably ask too much since he was either a lottery pick or near lotto pick.... Now that they have Carl Landry ( ) and Cousins theres no room for Thompson there, not to mention Sammy D taking the majority of the center's minutes. So, no.
give em a future second round + J.Taylor + Cash, done deal! Package Patterson Bud Jeffries and Hayes for Iggy! I know the salary wont work
They're having trouble with Cousins too. Also Marcus Thorton may be available as well with him being the odd man out in NO. The SF that we need.
Thornton is an undersized SG. That's why he slid in the draft. He is most definitely NOT a small forward.
If it was up to the coaching staff they would probably do this move in a heart beat to move Jordan Hill out of their rotation. I know they are obviously not supportive of developing him as slowly as might be needed. Morey on the other hand, would probably only put him on the roster if he knew he could actually get playing time over Chuck Hayes, which might not even happen even with a move for him where they only gave up a second round pick and a trade exception.
.....Kings and Rockets are always trading. I wouldn't be surprised if we unload Aaron Brooks to the Kings for some of their pieces. Aaron Brooks could certainly play alongside of a big shooting guard with passing skills like Tyreke (ie not Martin, the worst passing SG in the league)
"Oh man, I miss Carl Landry in a Rockets uniform! Hecwas the best thing that ever happened to the Rockets organization!" Blah blah blah... Yadda... Yadda. Landry should stay an ex-Rocket.
Of course you dont watch the kings to say that. Thompson is better than all of our frontcourt players minus scola and yao. He can play both spots, which is a bonus. He still have upside, is a great kid and a hard worker.
I am not really familiar with Jason Thompson's post play. I know he is athletic, but does he have good basketball IQ? Most importantly, can he play center? We don't need another PF -- Scola, Hill and Patterson are enough. However, a pogo stick athlete to combat the Javale McGees of the league would be a welcome addition.
I like Thompson, athletic, good rebounded, long and a solid mid range jumper. Hill and Thompson will give the opposition a lot of trouble with their O'rebounding.
