big-men take longer to come around. collier is still under contract until the end of next season. if he shows some improvement, i would give him a 2 yr deal. if he is not worthy of 12+ minutes after that then we can let him go.

I think Collier can be very valuable filling in when Ming is not available for practice. Let's face it, during the pre-season, we are going to need to practice a lot of high pick and rolls, and other new plays where the center shoots from outside.

Forget the center making the play, but the other players need to practice where to stand and how to react. Since Ming will miss a part of the pre-season, who will play his part? Cato? Collier sets high picks very well and shoots from outside.

I think Collier plays a very similar offensive game to what I expect Ming to play. I am just hoping that Ming is a lot better at it.

Collier is good for 6 fouls a game if/when we play the Lakers in the playoffs this year when we get swept out the first round. I could do his job.
We will probably let him go, hes just a poor man's Doleac.

It's usually good to have three centers on your squad so I wouldn't mind keeping him. We know we can get an honest effort and he's a big body in the paint. If he can sign for somewhere close to the minimum, I don't think it'll be a bad idea.

If Collier is not hitting his shot, which is most of the time, he is worthless.

We have Cato, Ming, MoT, and Eddie G. to play the 5 in a pinch, and they are all much better options than Collier. Let Jason go to Europe and have a nice career in a lesser league.

He will be the one getting all the garbage minutes every time we blow a team away. He might actually be productive in this role. (No Pressure)

With Sonbanis comming out of retirement and talking with the Lakers you might have to re-think about what you saying. You will need those extra fouls.

Sabonis can actually shoot though, Collier is just dismal. It hurts my face to watch Collier play.

EXACTLY! Collier can't dominate Summer League (he had two good games this year but 0 last yr. and 0 the yr. before) so he is worthless. We have 4 players who can do a better job at the 5 spot than JC so he needs to just go away.
